I put this motor on the 3D Enticement, and my son and I fly it in our front yard. Its got plenty of power to hover the 6.5 ounce plane for several minutes. We use a 480 mA, 7.4V LiPo and an 8x4 prop and get outstanding performance. The motor has been flawless over dozens of flights. Flight times are about 10-12 minutes. The only drawback is that the motor is a bit expensive for such a tiny motor. If it cost only $25, I'd probably buy 3 more of them.

After a less than perfect landing, I now know why you should use the prop saver feature of the motor. The shaft does not take a rough landing without bending since it is so long and of a small diameter. If I was a better pilot it would not have happened but this is not a problem because this is a great little motor and pulls my micro Telemaster all over the sky. As I get better I do not believe the small shaft will be a problem as I would be able to land a little better. Great motor!!
This motor is smaller than a Great Planes Rimfire 250 and is not in the same size/power category. It is very small. Power to weigth ratio is excellent. I had this motor in my Little Bogie (by Mountain Models) and on a tight loop, the wings snapped in two. Do not underestimate this motor! It is also tough as nails. The LIttle Bogie crashed head-on into the asphalt...the prop adapter and firewall mount was damaged, but the motor itself is just fine. From the smallest to their most powerful brushless, the E-Flite line of electric motors combines top-notch uncompromised quality with competitive pricing.
Great service and quality! used this motor as an ugrade to a bruhed Graupner that came with my six year old Graupner Piper Cub. Great replacement motor; Easy to mount. Terrific power to weight ratio and flawless performance. All backed by a great service crew at Horizon and prompt FREE shipping.
The quality out of the box is fantastic yet it is puzzling that most applications for this motor require the shaft to be reversed. That makes it sound simple...but the potential for damage to the motor is significant. The instructions over simplify the process. Loosen a couple of screws, push the shaft through the motor, tighten the screws. In fact, you have to persuade the shaft and that may result in a bent shaft or housing. I installed this one as a replacement in my eFlite L-4 Grasshopper and it seems to work fine on the bench. I did bend the housing slightly while "pushing" the shaft through the motor. I suspect it will have a shorter life as a result. It would be ideal if eFlite offered two shaft options in this motor size but I'm sure that is not a practical option.

Dear sir, I have tried to fly this aircraft with the recommended set up, and it flies just above stall. It certainly does not hang on the prop. The only things I added to it was a pilot figure and a drinking straw to make the exhausts look more scale. Nice looking plane but very disappointing on performance. I am thinking of trying a larger battery. Have you any suggestions? Have had a couple of Eflite aircraft with which I have been very pleased with. Yours sincerely Welly
I just bought the motor and like the other reviews I have to reverse the shaft. The shaft reversed without too much trouble but I have been unable to get the retaining ring back on to keep the shaft in place. So right now I have an expensive paperweight. Dido to the the comments asking why doesn't Horizon offer a motor with the shaft already reversed?????
Very difiicult to slide motor along motor pin to get something for the propeller to attach to...I still have not been able to do it and so my plane is grounded - may have to purchase another engine and try again - -what kind of value is that?
