These bulbs take a half second to come on and then several seconds to warm up to full brightness. After 15 seconds or so, they achieve the appropriate level of brightness. I have other CFL bulbs that come on instantly to full brightness and believe that these are old model bulbs. I expect more from a GE product and would gladly pay more for the newer versions.
