Couldn't be any easier. Turn it on, put the 2 screws in the wall. Hang the device on the screws. Done. I am slightly concerned that the temp registers up to 4 degrees off of my thermostat reading 6 " away.

You can take it right out of the package and test it before placing it in your desired area, that’s how easy it is to use. First Alert has always been my number one trusted brand when it comes to alarms and I will continue to use them while raising my children knowing my family is being protected. Each year they come out with great products that are getting easier to use and still the same amount of safety if not more!

It gives us the detection we want and need with updated style and digital features. The detector is slim lined and does not take up much space which is very nice. The design matches with the other items in our home. This product would be prefect for any sized home and I recommend that anyone get one of these products. We are very pleased with this product and highly recommend it.

However, those aren't as easy to operate as the First Alert. It's runs on battery power unlike the other detectors, it doesn't need to be plugged in. It has a battery life that lasts for 10 years. Super easy to activate switch on the back of the unit. I tested the alarm and it's loud enough to alert you to evacuate when the carbon monoxide levels are detected. The digital temperature display is an added bonus feature.

It comes with a battery that lasts ten years, which is also the life of the Carbon Monoxide detector itself. The design is great for travel and you can just set it on any table or mantle. I like the fact that it doesn’t have to be hung up. You don’t have to jump through hoops to set this up, it’s as simple as turning it on. It has an 85 decibel alarm, and I’m sure it would wake me up from a deep sleep. I also like how easy this is to carry with you, it’s great for taking to a motel room. I also like how the temperature is displayed as well, and I’ve checked it. It coordinates with my thermostat. You can push a button on top so a blue light is backlit and makes it easy to see. Overall, this is the best carbon monoxide detector that I’ve ever owned and I definitely recommend it.

You can chose to either use the provided screws and drywall anchors to attach to a wall, or you can place it on a table in the room where you want it. The instructions and information provided are very clear and easy to understand. The instructions are very specific with where you can/cannot place the alarm. It also has information about what different beeps mean and emergency information about CO. Once the CO alarm is ready to go, the temperature will be displayed. I feel safer in my home now knowing that my family will be alerted of any carbon monoxide problems.
First Alert brand has always been a favorite of mine. I especially liked the ten-year battery. Alarm is loud enough to hear from anywhere in the house. I like the dual display of temperature and CO levels. Compact unit, easy to mount if desired. And the price is definitely right!

Worked well straight out of the box and functions exactly as advertised. I bought 2 and would recommend this alarm. 4 stars now and will upgrade to 5 after I have it for awhile and see what the battery life is.
as far as I can tell it works the test button makes it go off but I assumed that the digital readout was the gas level in the home like most of them however it's a glorified thermometer that tells you how warm it is in the house instead was intensely disappointed at this feature I wanted one with a readout so that I would know the gas levels not how warm it was
