Was originally looking at combination smoke & CO detectors, but found out that while smoke detectors should be changed out every 10 years, CO detectors should be changed out every 5 years. Also, recommended placement of each is different, so purchasing separately made more sense. I bought separate CO detector (First Alert CO605 plug-in model with battery backup)...great price too.
My home purchased last September 2020, can with 3 of these. I texted all 3 today and one was not working. I called the company and told the story 5 minutes later a new is on the way to my home. Bravo Zulu
I purchased this because of the price and the fact it has a ten year battery life. I also think it looks cool, more low profile form than most others on the market. It was so simple to install and once you twist it into the included bracket the first time it automatically turns on. It does also have a blinking LED to let you know it's working. All and all it's a great product at a Walmart price!
Product arrived timely, had good installation instructions and the fasteners needed for installation. It was easy to install.
Well made, very easy to install and test, and eliminates the bothersome battery replacement every few months on the older units. A significant technological upgrade.
When it came time to change batteries in my single station detectors knowing they were older than 10 years old I switched them out to the 10 year detectors. I mixed ionization with photoelectric to provide mixed protection. They were relatively inexpensive and shipped promptly.
I installed my i9010 on 12/20/2016 And today is 03/26/2024 And it works fine
I bought the smoke detector a few months back and hooked it up today (3/19/2023). I tried to test it and it's no good. I spent good hard earned money with Kidde and got junk. Im sure other people have gotten good stuff from them. I don't think I'll buy any thing from them in the future.
A (2021) newly installed supposedly “10 Year warranty” Sealed kidde Smoke/alarm detector kept on beeping (3 long beeps) intermittently every 10-15 minutes starting 4:30 am for TWO HOURS! There was absolutely NO “Combustible Components” in the air or anywhere! I had to dislodge it from the base to determine WHAT was the reason (as it is SEALED and there's NO PLACE for Battery) I had to put up with the annoying alarm sound and continuously push the HUSH button in order to Shut this annoying sound off!! As a chronic insomniac I am disappointed, annoyed and angry for Losing one complete night of sleep! & do not know What to Do if this continues tonight?!?
This unit is a ten year guaranteed unit but it's already 3 years old, so just about 1/3 of its lifespan is over. When you buy something guaranteed for ten years, you expect it to late ten years. Annoyed.
