My home purchased last September 2020, can with 3 of these. I texted all 3 today and one was not working. I called the company and told the story 5 minutes later a new is on the way to my home. Bravo Zulu
I installed my i9010 on 12/20/2016 And today is 03/26/2024 And it works fine
I bought the smoke detector a few months back and hooked it up today (3/19/2023). I tried to test it and it's no good. I spent good hard earned money with Kidde and got junk. Im sure other people have gotten good stuff from them. I don't think I'll buy any thing from them in the future.
A (2021) newly installed supposedly “10 Year warranty” Sealed kidde Smoke/alarm detector kept on beeping (3 long beeps) intermittently every 10-15 minutes starting 4:30 am for TWO HOURS! There was absolutely NO “Combustible Components” in the air or anywhere! I had to dislodge it from the base to determine WHAT was the reason (as it is SEALED and there's NO PLACE for Battery) I had to put up with the annoying alarm sound and continuously push the HUSH button in order to Shut this annoying sound off!! As a chronic insomniac I am disappointed, annoyed and angry for Losing one complete night of sleep! & do not know What to Do if this continues tonight?!?
Omg. I have one of these that was installed by a home security company. This thing has been beeping and talking for the entire night, now 7.5 hours. I replaced the batteries 3 times. I've tried to take it down but for some reason I can't remove it. I've googled, youtubed videos and downloaded the manual. While trying the hush setting it set the alarm off at 1:30am, I'm sure my neighbour's are thrilled. I've never had issues with any other brand of smoke detector!
The alarm lasted 10 months before going off nonstop. Cleaning is not the issue. Had to disable it because the hush function was not stopping it for more than a few seconds. Extremely frustrated because I bought quite a few of these.
We replaced all of our smoke alarms with Kidde 10 year lithium battery smoke alarms. None of them are even a year old and they periodically "chirp" at odd times and for no reason. All throughout the day and waking us up in the middle of the night, scaring our dogs and daughter. We have taken them all down and will replace with standard battery alarm that will at least last one year and be cheaper! I would give it a zero if I could.
We bought our house 6 months ago and the Property Manager installed TEN of these. They are a nightmare. Go off randomly for no apparent reason at odd times, then just as randomly stop going off. There is never a fire. They are absolutely terrible, and unreliable. We wil be removing them all and replacing with the older-style AA battery Kidde models, which we used in our previous home and *never* had a false alarm or a problem with, not in all 6+ years we lived in the old home.
Bought the product few months ago for my basement and it started to beep non stop. Tried to hush it or reset it, but didn't work. Had to completely disable it and it now becomes a piece of trash. It is supposed to last 10 year, but didn't even last 6 months. DO NOT buy this junk!
what kinda company make a smoke alarm thats destined for the landfill, cant change battery, now more plastic and more batteries in landfills, great job helping the envirment. i have had this for about 5 years, now its going go the trash. many other i cnan replace batteries in are still hanging in there and i can just drop the batteries oiff at the local recyler or an auto parts store to be recycled. some real gebiuses were involved in desiging this piece
