I finished putting this changing table together about 10 minutes ago. It looks great and was not diffucult at all. While my boyfriend was down stairs enjoying his new 46 inch HD TV (and fell asleep in front of it) I was putting the table together by myself (it took about 30 minutes). Any woman with a little motivation and common sense can certainly handle this task! I won't wake my munchkin now but I am excited to use it tomorrow morning when she wakes up. Also, I am 5'9 and the height seems to be perfect.
We just got this changing table this week and put it together yesterday. I haven't used it yet because I'm not due till May, but I can tell it's going to be a very functional piece. The product came in great condition...it did have a slight gouge in one piece but it was on the inside edge so no one will see it and we did have to hammer down the end of one of the drawer rails because it was pulled up. I'm used to less expensive, assemble-yourself furniture and overall this piece is much better quality than others I have purchased. It seems very sturdy, the finish is nice and it has lots of storage space. The drawer slides very easily. It was easy to put together (we had it all together in an hour), but you do need either two pairs of hands or something to prop the pieces up while getting both sides on. Walmart's price was less than Babies 'R Us for the same product and we got free site-to-store shipping, we saved $60 by getting it at Walmart!
I absolutely love this changing table and it matches the Lennox crib perfectly. Took me about 20 minutes to put it together, very easy. the storage space on the shelves is 34'' long by 17'' deep, so I could fit 3 10''x15'' bins on each shelf. The table is very sturdy. I decided to keep the changing pad it came with, even though it's a bit thin (but I'm not intending my baby to sleep on it, you know). It's longer than standard changing pads. This model is a big improvement from the Aspen model, which I bought first and had to return because it was horrible. I love this one though and would recommend it.
I was against having a changing table (not sure why exactly, maybe because we have a very small apartment), but when I saw this one, I wanted it right away! I told my mother-in-law since she wanted to get us something "big". She sent us a gift card so we could order it when we were ready. Site-to-store worked wonderfully (who can resist free shipping?) and we brought it home. My husband and I put it together in, oh, about a half an hour. The only problem we had was that he tightened one of the screws too much and it cracked a piece of the wood slightly (you can't see it, though, and it doesn't affect the sturdiness). I was a little worried about the space between the shelves since I couldn't find those measurements listed anywhere before I bought it. Turns out the wicker baskets I bought fit perfectly and I feel I have lots of room for storage on this cute piece of furniture! -The drawer is about 4'' high and 17'' deep, the shelves have about 11'' worth of clearance between them.- I can't wait for my daughter to be born, due May 18, so I can put it to more use!
We recieved this product rather quickly, which was exciting, we should have known that something would go terribly wrong. NONE of the parts were labeled making it a pain to assemble. Then we realized that we were missing an important part. The company is not open on the weekend, so we have to wait until Monday to call and request missing part. I just hope that our part arrives before the baby does! The table itself looks GREAT, just wondering if it will ever be finished!
This changing table was purchased for our first grandchild. It matches the bed and the chest which we also purchased from WalMart. Was not as easy to put together as we first thought it to be, but with patience it came out fine. Seems to be really stable. It has helped with the bending to change the baby. The drawer keeps little things at hand and the shelves are good storage.
Changing Table had easy assembly except the drawer under the table seems to get stuck on it's way in and out. After a few uses, this loosens right up and it opens and closes smooth. So stick with it, because it all comes together nicely. I even have the crib that matches and the room looks great!
Its a nice table BUT like many other reviews the tracks/drawer are the problem. which is my case too. the drawer cuts up the sides of the table when going in and out and its very tough to get it to slide. its not a easy sliding drawer. And the I called to get replacement parts and i was told that theres no 100% garentee that I will ever see replace parts so I was not happy with that. The workers are all foren people (from mexico and places). I paid for this hanging table and I dont even get to use all of it. The drawer is not ever useable or even in my changing table now, I just use it without but doesnt look nice. I paid to USE all of the changing table. not just parts of it. And u have to drill new holes for the bars the hold the shelfs from bending into the nice wood. I thought that wasnt the briest way to make a chaning table but I guess thats what u get from foren people, that dont know how to do stuff, Same with the changing pad straps, theres no "already made holes" for them. u have to make ur own And there is really no place to drill a hole that u can hide later. This is nothing like their cribs. which are much better made. I will never buy from storkcraft again!
The changing table was easy to put together but after it was together the slides on the drawer didnt work well. My husband had to do some work on the slides to get the drawer to pull out smoothly. After it was fixed, it works great. I like the open shelving (pefect for storing stuff in baskets) and the drawer is really handy.
I got this changing table two years ago for my little girl and the drawer lasted about 1 day. It doesn't hold much at all, and even holding the couple diapers I put in, it fell off track all the time. After putting it back up for the 100th time the drawer actually fell apart. We tried wood glue and still couldn't get it to stay in place. SO...we used it without the drawer and it just isn't as cute without. Waste of money. I would recommend getting something else.
