To all the negative reviews stating they thought it came with fish, rocks, a new car, etc. Quoted word for word in the description: "What's included: Aquarium & empty hood. What's not included: Stand, Canopy and Accessories."
I bought this tank and I love it, there is only one fall back, I got the 35 gallon, and you need a ladder to get into the tank to reach in to decorate because there is no way to reach inside with a rectangle cut out that is on top of the tank. That is the only way to get stuff in. so if you are planning to buy big big rocks think again it will not go in this tank. It didn't come with the lights, I bought the stand and love the stand its also acrylic in the black and not wood. The light fixture I bought at petsmart and got the one for the regular tank and works well with this one. Didn't need the canopy at all. I got it with the blue back ground and inside I put blue lights and its really love it. But not for anyone who is a beginner or hates headaches. This is a tank that if you plan to leave it in one spot for good. Because it would be a headache to move because the way its done. I would really think where to put it before you fill it and start putting decorations and water.
Careful about what you think you are getting. Tank is great shape and size, but you only get a box for your light. The actual light has to be ordered separate for approx $40.00 if you can find one. Another draw back if the top is fixed in place leaving on a small opening to be able to place decorations, so the castle my son wanted is out. Mine in the 28 gal and the opening is about 4x12. Not very big at all! If I didn't have to track down a light and had a larger hole, would be greatly happy with it and gave it 5 stars.
The picture is deceiving. I thought I was getting the aquarium plus the cabinet. When it arrived, I found out that I spent approx. $230 on just the aquarium and it's acrylic. I found a complete tank, hood and cabinet at a local store for $280. Not only was I disappointed, but it took a lot of research to send the aquarium back to the original company and I'm out another $150. Boy, did I learn my lesson!!
