After years of searching, the new skin relief moisturizing lotion, with 1.3% dimetheone, works very well for me! It does as it claims. My hands were always dry and cracked, even after using lotion but this one keeps them moist and healthy looking! Aveeno, please do not ever stop making this one!
My husband has been using this product for a while. This healing ointment has done a wonderful job of minimizing the dry skin on his lower legs. A small amount goes a long way!
This product has been a welcome discovery after years of using a similar competing product! There is a great residual effect and it simply sinks into the skin! (Make sure you use it on damp skin, which helps to emulsify the product and help it to loose all trace of heaviness.) My dry eczema-prone hands are in heaven.
I'm kind of an aveeno fan-girl as their products are ones that consistently do not irritate my skin. So when I see something new, I've got to try it. This is basically petrolatum jelly, but it's got some extra stuff mixed in that give it a better texture, more 'calming and soothing' abilities, and is honestly just a good product. It doesn't hurt at all when you put it on even skin that is a bit cracked, and it's great for lips too. Using this with some hydrocortisone cream, I've been able to nearly 100% eliminate some incredibly stubborn areas of eczema that haven't been clear for over a year in about a week! I had tried just plain old petroleum jelly before, and I don't know if this is a placebo or what, but it really does seem to work better for me - and it's a tiny bit easier to get out of a tube than petrolatum jelly. I wouldn't use this over large areas (just too gloopy and a bit greasy) but it's fantastic for particularly problem areas.
i am in remission from leukemia and with all the pills i take a side effect is severely dry skin. the dry skin mostly effects my face and neck and around my eyes. i have purchased at least 10 other lotions that my doctor has recommended and none of them quite did the trick. i tried this aveeno product and its the only thing that keeps my face from being flakey all day. at first i just applied the aveeno with a dry face but recently i have applied it while my face is wet. Its a thick ointment so i think the water helps it spread better and it doesn't leave your face looking shiny. it just goes on smoothy and keeps your face moisturized. i recommend it when you wake up and before you go to bed. If your skin isn't too severely dry i don't think you need this exactly product. i would only get it if you have been searching for a lotion to keep your skin dry and you haven't found the right product, then this is for you.
I have extremely dry heels and feet, I've used an entire tube of this product over the last couple of months and my feet and heels have neve felt better! Fragrance Free, I've noticed NO smell from the petrolatum jelly in it. My only complaint is that no one in my area is selling it anymore. I love all Aveeno products but I think this is my new favorite!
This is a great product. Got a small samples. On the winter time my hands get dry, cracked and sometimes bleed a bit. While on a trip to NY my hands were really bad, got some of this healing ointment and with just the first application felt a big difference. I live in NC and honestly its been hard to find. I need some asap , tried natural oils, other lotions but this is the only one that really helps relieve the dryness and heals the damage to the skin. Please make it available nation wide and easy to get.
I've always been a slave to putting something on my lips to keep them moisturizer and it was a constant battle that I couldn't win! One day at my dermatologist office they were giving out little samples. I thought because of the size that it was for lips. From the first application my battle was over. I can apply it in the morning and be comfortable all day. Awesome product!
I got a sample from my dermatologist and love it but cannot find it anywhere in the Houston area or online. So disappointed.
I did not like the smell of this product. I figure it must the smell of the petroleum in it because otherwise it is fragrance free. It seemed to just sit on my skin and did not absorb into my skin.
