So far so good. I don't know what static everyone is talking about!! It might have what to do with your location. I love it, I hear my babies very clearly. I never tried it on battery power so I can't tell you the battery life span. Great buy for the price!!
I was very skeptical about buying this monitor set because it was so inexpensive. It turned out to be a real surprise! When you turn one monitor on at a time, the static is awful but once two units are on the static disappears completely. I love that it can be plugged in or battery operated. They’re also small and portable, so taking them on a trip is easy and hassle free. I would recommend this product to anyone and everyone who is concerned about the well being of their child!
I am a first time mother and this is the first monitor that I have used (it was a gift). I really liked the monitor initially because it has the temp. feature and the lights, however once my son arrived and we began using it we ran into several problems; the battery life is fairly short, I keep it pluged in at night and when I know I will be stationary but if I am going to be running around the house or even outside I can't rely on the batteries also it says there is a low battery indicator and I have yet to see it...when my batteries go dead my sound goes first, once my son was crying and I didn't hear a thing (the volume was all the way up) and I just happened to look up and all five lights were light up! Also the most annoying problem I've had so far is that my son's room is about 5 feet from my bedroom door and I keep the monitor plugged in on my bedside table, and the static is AWFUL, I cannot figure out where my interference is coming from and changing the channel makes no difference! We cannot even hear the baby over the whole mess! I was very disappointed in this monitor it gives me no peace of mind at all!
I bought this product because my old monitor was starting to give out.. i liked the fact of 2 reciversand then one for the babys room.. the first night it worked well but the second night i had to get up in the middle of the night and get the old one back out because it went really staticy.. i am very disapointed considering it was 30 dollars and it should be decent.. i am taking it back later today to find a different one.. dont not get this monitor..
I'm here shopping for a new monitor because this didn't last a week. I'd return it but I stupidly threw away the packaging. In 7 days BOTH of the power inlets broke so we can't even use the AC adapter, and the battery life is terrible. The thermometer part never worked anyway, and there's non stop static. We tried to use this as a back up monitor because we have a Video monitor (which we love) but needed something a little more portable. I'm disappointed to say this product was a complete waste of money.
The title says it all!!! This is exactly where this thing should be in the garbage!!!!! This is the third monitor I have went through and all three of different brand and all three as you can see you get what you pay for. I guess I'm going to have to spend over $100 to get a decent monitor to actually work and give me more static coming through. Hope who ever else buys this has a better chance with it than I did.
This monitor is awful!!! I have to stand 3 feet away from the base with the parents receiver to hear anything... no point in having this. If you leave the room it is nothing but static. It has to be basically on top of the baby to pick up any noise. IT'S HORRIBLE! DO NOT get this monitor. I am going to go get a different one!
I bought the Safety 1st Safe Glow Monitor late last year. Now it switches off in the middle of the night without warning. I can't help but wonder how many times my daughter has woken up crying and I didn't hear her because I was depending on this thing??? I tried to call Safety 1st to ask them about it and was asked to jump through hoops in order to get a replacement for this cheap monitor. You will be asked to fax your receipt along with your information. They verify it and then ask you to mail certain parts from the unit. Finally they will send you a check or voucher to replace it. NOT worth my time. I've already told them that I am going to buy another monitor, but it will NOT be a Safety 1st product.
We bought this monitor and returned it in two days. The baby's monitor is not very sensitive. We had to put it a foot away from him and then turn our volume all the way up. We also got constant static on both channels. The first night I kept waking up to static and not my baby, so after a while I went to check on him just to find him screaming. The monitor had stopped working and was just giving us static!!
I bought this because it was pretty cheap and had 2 receivers. I also like the temp. on the base; it gets hot and cold in our house easy. The fact that it was cheap should have been my first clue! The volume was never really all that loud but that did not bother me since I was able to hear when and what I needed to. However, now you can hardly hear a thing from my son's room on either receiver. We have had it too long to return it so now I am out the money and still have to purchase a new monitor! I just hope the new one I buy is much better!!
