Don't pay too much money other expensive products if you are just looking for an audio monitor. This will help you to hear clearly your baby's sounds.
I bought this monitor for the times my 3 month old grandson naps at my house. It works very well. The best part is it's silent except when the baby makes a noise. That's when you hear the sounds loud and clear. The price is right, too.
I work over night and sleep during the day baby sleeps in our room so when henaps and wakes up if mommy doesn't hear him i have to get up and take him to her i got broken sleep constantly but with these things i sleep so much better as soon as baby wakes up mommy knows and can go get him as the title says thank goodness
WORKS REALLY GREAT. NEEDED SOMETHING TO HEAR THE GRAND BABY, BUT WANTED SOMETHING INEXPENSIVE.
This is my 3rd attempt at buying a baby monitor for my elderly mother. This one works GREAT! I thought I misplaced it as I couldn't find it to place in our bedroom. There is NO feedback with our metal roof!
Got this and on one channel its staticy but works perfact on other channel I would recommend this to any parent on a budget and I live in an apartment complex
At first I thought the unit was malfunctioning because I couldn' t hear everything going on in the room all the time. Then it occured to me that it transmits when the noise changes. When the baby makes a noise, the monitor transmits to the parents receiver and then clicks back off for a bit. It save battery power for those time you're using batteries and not AC voltage.
We got this monitor to replace another one that broke not too long ago. We seem to have a lifespan of about 6 mos-1 year on our monitors. (I'm not sure why? Maybe we just live in a bunch of a wonky houses or something because we certainly don't abuse them at all.) Anyway, I got this one based on the price to be honest. $15 for a monitor! Awesome! For the price, it works better than I would think it would. Of course, we haven't had it all that long either so I really can't comment on the durability of it. What I can say is that it is just a simple monitor...no bells and whistles. One receiver. One parent unit. On/off switch. White noise filter: I will comment on that. The noise filter works ok, but it's not very good at blocking out the white noise...It just blocks it until there is a noise in the room and then the noise and the fluff all come through the monitor at the same time. So this leads to the monitor going off randomly and being really loud...so it's got a small little quirk, but I mean, if you want a simple monitor that's cheap and works well...this one is fine.
Monitor works good. Occasionally has a light buzzing noise but for a general use monitor it does the job and cannot beat the price!
We've owned several monitors over the years, and this by far is the most disappointing. It serves its purpose - it works. But it works more off of a 'walkie-talkie' type system rather than just having an open line. It is very sensitive. Picks up on vehicles going down the road or water running through the pipes. For daytime use I can tolerate it. But at night when all is quiet, the sound of the monitor 'cutting on' to alert you of noise is worse than hearing the baby cry! If you've never used a more expensive monitor, it may not bother you. But we've had the Summer Infant video monitors in the past and I'll gladly pay 3-4 times the amount for it (and will be returning this one). Those monitors keep an open line, so there's no cutting on and off. Just the sound of the baby when they make noise. If you need something cheap for daytime use only, this will work. But don't bother using it at night if you want any sleep.
