I like how you can see as well as hear the baby. Talking abck to the baby is good to. The monitor has a built in nightlight which is great. Its easy to use.
We have only had this a couple of days but so far we are really pleased with it. It replaces our old angelcare sound and movement monitor (without video) which to be honest was quite difficult to set up and the menu was not easy at all. This monitor is so easy to set up and menus are easy to navigate. I much prefer this one so worth paying the extra money.
Wow. I have tried(all at different times) the owlet, vtech sound monitor, vtech video/sound monitor, and snuza. I returned them all after trying them because they just didn't do it for me! It wasn't until I found angelcare 1100 that I absolutely fell in love!! Wow. Although angelcare 1100 has some flaws, it isn't enough to outweigh the benefits! This is why I love angelcare 1100: Pros: You can see your baby, hear your baby, talk to your baby through the monitor and monitor your baby's breathing movement. You are able to see your baby in the daylight or in the dark because of built in infrared lights. The nursery unit has a night light you can also turn on or off if your baby likes a night light(just the perfect brightness, not too bright). The other camera monitor I had, the picture would always freeze and with a sleeping baby, how do you know if the picture if frozen or not if they're not moving? Not until they're crying and the picture isn't moving and now you can't trust that image anymore. Angelcare 1100 has all kinds of settings like being able to set the sound and motion sensitivity levels(how well it picks up sound/motion). You can turn off the camera if you only want to hear and monitor motion. You can turn off the motion if you feel like it. You can lower the sound that comes through. You can set the monitor to alarm you if the nursery gets too cold or too hot. You can set a timer on the monitor. I love that you can talk to your baby. Especially in times when trying to sleep train your baby and need to comfort them with your voice and nothing else(ferber method, worked really well for us). You can probably find most of these features in other monitors but what I loved the most about this monitor was the motion sensor part of the monitor. The motion sensor can pick up the most delicate movements. My baby's mattress is pretty soft (don't judge me) and you would think that the softness of the mattress would absorb any kind of movement right? Nope, not for angelcare 1100. It still picks up her breathing movements. The screen has a little pendulum that let's you know it's still sensing motion. I have never been able to trust a product so much. I have never been able to rest so peacefully knowing that the monitor would sound if my baby stopped breathing or if it stopped picking up the motion. I absolutely love this product. I whole heartedly recommend it to everyone and will most definitely keep buying these products. Cons: There a few things I don't like about this product. the nursery unit has a cord plugging the motion sensor into the camera and a cord plugging the whole thing to the wall. It can be quite a hassle. I know Angelcare does make a cordless version of this monitor but it is twice as much money so if the cords are a deal breaker, maybe go for the cordless, but then you have to worry about the batteries dying on you right? And I heard it doesn't have the talk back feature (don't quote me on that!) The parent unit camera picture is not the best quality. You can still see everything, like even your baby's nose but it's not a high definition camera by any means. The nursery unit for some ridiculous reason has an alarm on it if the motion sensor goes off. So it sounds in the nursery and on the parent unit. Luckily, I feel that it is accurate and it has only false alarmed once(or maybe it wasn't a false alarm? I'll never know) and it's a pretty loud noise. There's no setting option to turn off the nursery unit from sounding the alarm. I think I read somewhere that it has a 600 ft range... I'm not too sure how accurate that is. I'd say maybe 300 ft. But I live in a 3 story house and it's still connected being from the top floor to the basement. The parent unit has rechargeable batteries that come with the purchase but they don't last more than a few hours and it has to be charged again. These are all flaws that I am able to completely look past for the amount of benefits I receive in exchange. For the money this product is, you are getting a massive bang for your buck. There is nothing better out there than angelcare! Thank you for the peace of mind angelcare! I know this is a long post. I took the time to write this review because it is the best monitor I have ever come across and I think everyone should have this peace of mind!! I hope this helps!
I bought this monitor for my daughter and grandson. They absolutely LOVE it! The camera quality is amazing, even night time camera!! The sound is perfect and the alarm is loud enough to wake you, we tested it out (minus baby). I would HIGHLY recommend this monitor to anyone, especially those new mommies.
So glad a friend of mine gave this as a baby shower gift. Not only can you see and hear your baby in the monitor but it also tells you when your baby is moving. It also tells the room temperature, this is very helpful for postpartum moms since we always feel too hot/cold (hormonal temp issues), this way we won't be setting the room temp too hot or cold for the baby.
This worked awesome with our youngest son. Wish we had it with our older kids. You have to follow the instructions perfectly though. Can not have it under a ceiling fan or over or under a a/c vent. It is that sensitive.
We are so pleased with how quickly our monitor was delivered--much sooner than promised.
The unit makes a horrible sound when the baby is picked up off the mat. I would have expected it to be able to sense that the crib is empty and not go off due to not sending movement. The handheld piece does not hold a charge, so I have to keep it plugged in all the time. It is very clunky and has poor quality touch screen technology . Not at all what I expected
This was the first choice when I gave birth to twins. It's not worth the money. The handheld has horrible range. Makes me nervous about if its working at night and properly picking up their breathing. It will lose signal 10 feet away from the crib.
We got this unit because my brother has a similar product (his works great according to him), the one that does not have video included. I tried using it in different beds to test its accuracy and was quite disappointed. It is extremely unreliable. At first, using an elevated crib (mat that is attached to the rails of a portable crib) I tried using it without the added board (it recommends using a 13" by 13" with at least 1/4" thick board underneath the sensor movement's board). No luck, the sensor would still show movement after we had taken our baby out for at least 5 minutes. Then I tried using the board, and decided to go with a more solid version of it. I used a 20" x 20" with 1/2 inch" thick board (same kind used for bed frames) => Same result. I decided to test it in a different bed this time on a regular crib with a spring support underneath the mattress. No difference, at first it worked great, with no baby on it, the alarm went off. So then I placed the baby in there, and the sensor started to pick a signal of motion. After I took my baby out of the crib, the sensor still picked a "motion" signal. So, maybe it works for you, but I definitely suggest creating different scenarios and testing it thoroughly before keeping the product. Ours is going back!!! FYI: I consider myself pretty knowledgeable regarding technology. I am an electrical engineer by trade that works with all kinds of electronic sensor devices as part of my profession.
