This phone is perfect for someone who loves to text. It has a nice 1.3 megapixal camera that takes crisp photos, and a fully functional music player. The qwerty keypad has slightly raised keys so texting feels comfortable and natural. A great phone for those who are looking for something simple yet practical.
This phone is excellent for my life style and the area I live in. I work on our family ranch and am constantly away from the houses checking and working with the animals. This simple little phone picks up and keeps service much better than the "better smart phones." The camera is a bit disappointing but I love the slide out key board. The phone is compact and not bulky like the newer phones so it doesn't get in my way and I am not as worried about breaking it. One less thing to worry about, these phones are meant to last. I am on my second one but not because the other broke, I lost it moving cattle. But I highly recommend this phone and am totally bummed that they have been discontinued! Bring it back, it works great when the fancier ones have trouble finding service! When I am miles away from the house and have an emergency this phone has not let me down! I have had my phone for at least 4 years and this is the style that works best for this old guy. Buttons are better than swipe phones. My phone has survived a trip thru the washing machine and a battery that failed and overheated. The Cosmos needs to return because of the 4 row keypad and ease of use by people that do not want an internet phone or a flop phone that you have to hit a key 3 times to get the correct letter [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I have had my phone for over 3 1/2 yrs, and it is just started to physically fall apart. Several of the important key covers have started to fall off (the Clear and End key covers.) In addition, there are several of the letters on the QRTWY keyboard that tend to stick or are difficult to get to type into a word; and have to be repeated to get to respond. This makes sending text messages a bit more difficult. I am going to be reordering a reconditioned one of these phones as my "new phone" for the "new every two years" phone.
I've had all three Cosmos, although I recently upgraded to a G4, and I must say, they are great little robust phones. I've actually attempted to purposely kill this phone on multiple occasions, doing things such as throwing it across the room when I got mad, dropping it countless times, running it in a thermal chamber from -50c to 100c, vibrating it on a vibe table, and it just kept chugging along (Only thing I didn't do was drop it in the toilet). The only real qualms I have are that this phone is way too basic for a 25 year old guy with an active social life, and compared to the first Cosmos, the keyboard is a little lackluster. If you're looking for a good, cheap (Free with plan), simple rugged phone with a full keyboard, this is the phone to have.
I got this phone back in high-school about 5 years ago, and it still works to this day. It's better new phones being made today, as this one was made to last a long time. I would have given it 5 stars; if it had more ways to unlock the password when you forget the phone number (I could factory reset it, but I don't want to lose any pictures I have on it).
I guess its obsolete now. It was great while it was supported. I no longer receive updates and it does not support all the new stuff. All I can do is talk & text. I got this phone in 2013. It has lasted a long time. I also have an LG Vista vs880 and it is also obsolete and doesn't get updates. Its also in a bootloop that i cant get out of because of lack of support. I am not connected to a phone service on that one. But it also receives no updates or support. I love the product it last forever but the support & updates suck. I would still be using if there was some support. I am not one to change my phone whenever a new product comes out especially if I like what I have. Can't comment on calls but so far I like this better than the $20 phones. This would be great for the good old college days... vibrate mode button. You can get a micro sd card to get music on it. Pictures are good. I will update when I get more use out of it.
I purchased this item recently with the intent of keeping it for a very long time, but I ran into a problem with the size of the keyboard and the numbers on the face of the phone. In short, I will return the phone to the place of purchase and get one that my wife is comfortable with the size of the text.........
I am not the type of person that has to have a smart phone. I actually like basic phones, but this one is the worst out of all of the basic phones I've had! There is a delay when going through the icons on the menu. The darn thing cannot hold many text messages AT ALL!! It seems like I'm having to erase old texts to get new ones every other week. The keys on the front of my phone wore out very quickly to the point where I had to just about break my finger to get the button to work. The graphics are not good quality. So what is good about this phone? My phone take pretty good motion pictures, meaning it is okay if the subject is not standing still. Also the fact that you can go to tools and info search and search for deleted messages, etc. Lastly, what is good are the voice commands. But there are many other phones with these features.
