Detailed product description

Treadmill Fitness Walking is an effective way to burn extra calories and achieve a healthy lifestyle. If you want, you can even power or speed walk on the ProGear 350, since the motor speed goes up to a maximum of 6mph. Power walking is defined as walking between 4.5 to 5.5mph. Unlike outdoor walking, treadmill fitness walking has the benefits of shock absorption and the convenience of exercising in your own home, in front of a TV or just listening to your favorite music. Treadmill walking can help you lose body fat, tone muscles and is a great way to stay in shape. Studies show that a 2 mile walk everyday achieves the same results as an intense exercise of any technique. The ProGear 350 is perfect for walkers who want to "pick up the pace" and get to the next level of fitness walking.

Pick up was easy, and the box was in very good condition. The treadmill was in good condition also. I found it easy to assemble. I like the "fold-up" feature of the treadmill. I can move it from room to room using its wheels. I tried it out for the first time and yes it is very quite. You can start out slowly and work up to a jog. This is perfect for a small apartment. I would recommend this product to my friends. It give me a good workout.

I choose this for the size and weight. I was not disappointed. I'm completely satisfied with the performance. Easy to assemble, brand new out of the box.

Decent Treadmill for the Money

I needed something rather compact, since I live in a small home without a lot of room. I've not spent much time on it, yet, but my first walk seemed ok. I'm older and not very tall. All I need the treadmill for is daily walking at a slow to medium pace. This treadmill meets those needs. It was relatively easy and quick to assemble. Getting the base out of the box was a little difficult, because of its size and weight. I managed it but I recommend having someone there to help you. It's easy to fold and roll and doesn't take up a lot of space.

Reading other reviews, I learned that the primary issue others had was receiving a used machine. Therefore, I had it shipped "Site to Store", so that I could return it easier if it appeared to be used. Thankfully, the box was undamaged and the unit was in excellent shape. Assembly was straightforward. Essentially, you just have to bolt the handles and display to the base. The only tricky part is fishing out the ends of the wire harness from inside the tubular handles. A small bent wire would be handy for this (I had to use a fondue fork...). The unit is very easy to move and set up. My apartment is too small to leave this unit set up when not in use. It's no problem to roll it out of the corner and set it up in front of the television when I want to use it. No excuse there for not using it every day. By itself, the motor & belt are very quiet. When I walk on it, there is a fair bit of noise from the belt rubbing on the base. It's about on par with other treadmills that I've used and I have no problem hearing the television. I'm used to using a much larger & heavier treadmill at work. When I first used this one, it felt a little lightweight and flimsy to me. After a bit, I got used to the different "feel" and I'm quite happy with it. It appears to be quite stable. I don't run on it though and have no reason to go over 3 1/2 mph. The deck is set at a slight incline (Maybe 3-5 degrees?). I realize that power adjustment would not be practical on such a light weight machine. Still, I wish they would have 2-3 different incline choices that could be set manually. I don't bother shimming it with boards as others suggest-I just run the belt faster to get a better workout. One other other improvement would be a back lit display. I like to use it while watching television in a darkened room. I have to use a penlight to check my readings. I'm not sure that I trust the heart rate monitor. I have to squeeze the handles very tightly to get a reading and it changes very slowly. That's a minor bug-If I ever really get serious about my heart rate while working out, then I'll buy an external unit like joggers use. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase. The machine works well and easily folds up and stows away in the corner when not in use. For its size and price, I think it's a good value.

This is a very nice treadmill but when it arrived the motor cover was broken. It wasn't worth trouble to return it, so I fixed it with super glue. I was disappointed that it came this way.all of the plastic pegs that hols the cover in place which are plastic had been snapped off. I bought this for my mother was needs it for therapy after an accident. It works very well but still shouldn't have been broken it weighs 95 lbs. So a big hassle to repack and return

USED TREADMILLS

I highly suggest to anyone that does not have the capability to return this product to WalMart...DO NOT BUY!! I purchased my first one of these nightmares, and when I opened the box, the cowling covering the motor was completely broken off of the base. The metal on the base was scratched, the power cord was worn and dirty, and there was dirty footprints on the belt. Unbelievable. So I had to get a friend with a truck to help me return it to the store. Returning it was the easiest part of the whole ordeal. Since this was the treadmill that I wanted, due to the fact that it folds up and is mobile, I ordered a second one, thinking the first one had to be a mistake...WRONG!!! The second treadmill came in with one bolt on the cowling broken off, more dirty footprints on the belt, the metal was severely scratched on the base, and the plastic on the instrument screen looked like it was kicked around in a warehouse for a while. Even the pulse monitors on the arms were scratched up like they had been in use for months. All in all...do not waste your money!!! I am so upset about all of this I have gone through, I will never buy online from this company again.

Used Equipment Sent-Manufacturer Not Responding

Received item and unit had clearly been used before and returned. The bottom bar was all scratched up and the safety plate had a screw coming out that was stripped. You could see where the handles had been attached before. The oil bottle that came with the unit was broken and leaking all over the bag it came in. We did put the unit together and it works OK. We can likely find a solution for the stripped screw from the safety plate. However, I have contacted the manufacturer twice now sending pictures of the damage to try and negotiate some kind of reasonable discount with no response. If we do not hear anything by next Friday we will be returning the item to Walmart. I will be contacting them next.

Never got out of the box

I was really looking forward to this treadmill as it was in my price range and exactly what I wanted. After waiting a week for delivery I opened the box to begin unpacking and sure enough the cover over the motor was all cracked up. Thankfully I was inspecting the parts before fully unpacking so it was easy to put those pieces that were out of the box back in. After loading the box into the back of my truck and hauling it back down to my local Walmart in which they were VERY good about the return, I began to research for a different treadmill.
