I replaced a screw drive which finally died. The screw drive was VERY LOUD and greasing the track was a mess. This belt drive is very quiet and has been working great thus far. I also like the no maintenace with the belt.
It works very well, quiet and smooth and relatively easy install.
Very pleased. Quietly opens and close.
The belt broke on my previous Genie opener of 12 years. Instead of replacing the belt, I replaced the entire opener. I'm very pleased with the newer product. I plan to have it for the next 12+ years too. It's quieter and smoother than the last one. It took a day's time to remove the old and install the new one. But I did it myself with no problems.
A very good opener. Super quiet operation. Able to use with existing rails and torsion springs. Easy installation and programming. Comes with 2 remotes, an inside up/down switch and an outside box.
Got it installed with a lot of effort trying read and understand the instructions. I felt the instructions could use a lot of rewriting. It was and easy install other than that. It is very quiet.
I received it earlier than I was promised. It was easy to assemble and install. It's not quite as quiet as I had hoped, but it's still a great value.
My first call to support ended up being disconnected instead of being placed on hold. The second call worked, sort-of. There is a 6 wire terminal for the three wires (+ & - each) to be connected. The instructions on page 18 ( of the Sept 2012 manual) are incorrect. I had to call support to find the correct instructions. Support was very good they knew the answer immediately. Which implies that the Genie knows of the error but has chosen to not correct the problem (4 year old manual) . I then asked to speak to a supervisor to complement the support person and during the phone transfer the line was disconnected. Their phone system is faulty.
Every time I plugged it in it sparked and blew the breaker. I spent 1/2 hr. twice on hold with the Genie help line. They finally told me to replace the breaker. So I had an electrician replace my breaker and troubleshoot the problem.(There was no problem with the wiring) The Genie still blew the breaker so I bought a Chamberlin opener for less,plugged it in and it worked great. Then I uninstalled the genie, Installed the Chamberlin, and returned the Genie. Save yourself a huge head ache and buy a Chamberlin opener! I love mine.
