I have a chihuahua, his name is Bovic. I had him for almost 3 yrs. Since i had my dog, this is the only underpads i have been using. It works for me and my dog. And, it is affordable, good product. I highly recommend it.
These are the least expensive dog pads out there, yet in my experience over the last 5 years, they work just as well. Hint: for a real deal, buy the largest package. These are really good for indoor puppies, geriatric pets, or for use as an emergency "back up" for indoor pets when you are at work. It is very easy to train a dog to use these. One of my puppies tried to chew it up the first couple of weeks, but she was trying to chew everything else in the house also. I was able to quickly train her to cease this behavior. The only problem is that once a puppy (or older dog) gets accustomed to using this on occassion or for emergencies, they will try to avoid going outside when the weather is bad so they can use these instead. Overall, I would highly recommend these pad. They have saved me LOTS of $$$$ over the years, when compared to the higher priced alternatives.
I had a poodle that I trained to potty in a tray with newspapers. The tray kept everything contained. However, I acquired a puppy who used to pull the newspapers out and shred them. I tried using a training pad in the tray, but she still pulled the pad out and shook it in play. I saw these puppy training pads with the adhesive backing, so I tried them. They worked like a charm. My poodle could no longer pull them out of the tray, so she soon lost interest in playing with them. They were perfect for our needs.
After finding out that my 16 year-old cat had been secretly weeing behind my curtains (yuck!), I talked to my vet who recommended I try using these pads. He explained that often, older cats don't like to use litter boxes anymore. Luckily, my cat still used the litter box for going #2 (they won't let me say the actual word), but absolutely would not #1 in it (site considers the actual word to be profanity. go figure) Placing these pads down next to her litter box, she took to them immediately. They do seem to be a bit thin so I would double-up on them and just replace the top one once used - replacing the bottom one once or twice a week. I am very grateful to have found this product and found a great solution to a very bad problem.
Pros: Big enough for my pup [Cavalier King Charles Spaniel] to go on it 3 times maximum. Cons: If she so happens to urinate and it's a lot, you can feel the wetness under it once you pick it up. So there's not severe leakage, but you can feel it on your hand — however, it's not enough to soak the carpet. When I first tried this product, I bought the 30 ct. package and it lasted me about...3 and a half weeks? I've currently decided to try and go with "Champion Breed" puppy pads, just because I wanted to try something new. All in all, it's an average product, not a WOW product, but a good one. It's good for those who have pups that don't eliminate too much, or just for the bad weather when they can't go out.
The product in general is great but it is too small for use with larger indoor dogs.
This product gets the job done if you simply want to train your pet to go onto a "selected area." The quality of the pad is quite low compared to the higher priced brands. For some reason, my dog attacks the pads and chews it up rather than using it for what it was intended for. The scent mechanism does attract the dog but my dog chews it up! I'd prefer the higher cost brands for it's quality. I thought any pad would do for my indoor pet but I was wrong. He seem to prefer the other brand. Talk about a spoiled pet!
AFTER MY 3 MO. OLD CHIHUAHUA KEPT GOING POTTY IN THE KITCHEN CORNER I BOUGHT THE "OUT TRAINING PADS" TO TEACH HER TO KEEP GOING IN THAT CORNER. BUT AFTER I BOUGHT THE PADS SHE STARTED GOING IN THE LIVINGROOM ON MY CARPET THEY DONT ATTRACT HER AT ALL SHE JUST SEEMS TO TEAR THEM APART SO NOW I'M PICKING UP NOT ONLY DOGGY MESS BUT PIECES OF TRAING PAD TOO!!!!
These pads are low cost and also low quality. They don't absorb like higher quality products. Good for puppies but not big dogs that have larger bladder. It great for temporary potty location such as vacations and visits to friends house.
I made the mistake of buying 3 packs of this item. Every pack was different. First time they worked well. (they had the self stick on the bottom so it stayed in place). Second time there was no selfsticking, so my puppy would run around the house with it. Third time the pads were pointless. No Selfstick plus everything went right thru it onto the floor.
