I upcycle furniture as a hobby. The sanding can be tedious. I found this to be a way to not have to sand everything. paint it over all surfaces and then use the paint you choose, always sticks well.
Works great to cover wood trim!!!
the zinsser primer i think is a excellent primer goes on great . with the primer you dont need as much paint. that i wish i had known.

I used this primer on a deck that I had painted unsuccessfully with oil based redwood paint. I was never satisfied with the job. I decided to paint it semi-gloss white latex. The Zinsser went over the redwood oil base just like it said it would. After a bout with sanding the spindles, I decided to try and paint over the old paint and did so with excellent results. I also had a lot of green mold (or something) buildup and the Zinsser covered it also. I might need a second coat in places. I used a cheap brush and it has streaks in it. Or the finish coat might cover it all. Decisions, decisions. It's a good product.
While the product itself is excellent the shipping was a nightmare!! I brought it in as soon as it arrived, lid was opened, paint was everywhere, big mess! No way to contact anyone about this problem! Shame on the delivery person! No indication on the outside of the box, meaning it had to have just happened at the time of delivery!
I tried doing order pick up from two different walmart locations that showed this item in stock. I had to cancel both orders because they were both out of stock. I was avoiding the shipping option since the reviews were bad but it was my only option at this point. My order said delivered but I never received my order. I tried contacting Walmart and they told me that I have to wait two business days to see if it gets delivered a different day. At this point I should have just gotten this from Home Depot or Menards. I will no longer be ordering from Walmart.
The photo below shows how the item was when I opened it upon delivery. I would appreciate a refund please. All the paint spilled out into the box.
Absolute garbage easily scraps of when dry goes on thin. What it claims is false maybe if the surface was bare wood it might work but from my first try on a already painted surface it failed never get this or you will regret it zero stars from me. No matter what you think save your time%26money and go with something else. Read some reviews myself that were negative reviews but i did not think that was possible i guess they where correct on this product it is useless.
