I have used midi keyboards before but not one that is a midi controller with pads and everything. I love it! I am able to plug it right into my laptop and use it with my own music software or the software that you can download from the company website. It took me a bit to figure things out at first but now I am catching on. I love the ability to program what I want and do things like arpeggiate those sounds. I can record whatever I do right into my software. It's awesome! I will have a lot of fun with this.
Small but mighty! This is a complete tool! Everything you need! If you're interested in producing your own music this is perfect. It's pretty easy to use out of the box. Has a lot of convenient features and a lot of things to help you in your pursuit of a music career. It's good for novices, so don't be intimidated. It's small and compact so will easily fit on a desktop or table. It's black in color so loks professional. Thanks!
This MK3 keyboard has multiple functions, it's complex and very entertaining. There is a lot to learn for a beginner, very enjoyable, works through a pc or laptop with available software, there is a free software that works with it or other types of software that is available for purchase to use it. Lots of videos that explain what it does and several tutorials on how to use it, get started and more advanced lessons for it that explain everything you need. Takes some time to learn everything it does for a beginner. Be patient and take your time learning, you can have so much fun with this and even lots of professional possibilities for those music makers out there. A good device to grow with for older children and great for adults who love music.
The key board is really nice with good keys. So far it is easy to use. We are in the process of hooking it up and downloading from websites. We are musically inclined in drums and making songs so this mini controller will be fun to create cool music.
I'm going to start right off by saying that this is going to take some time to learn to use if you haven't used a music production system before. the Quickstart Guide is pretty good and will get you going. You will need to download software to use this with your computer. If you're a beginner, this may take some time to learn about. If you're an experienced music producer and you like creating your own beats and loops then this is definitely your compact system. I played with this for two weeks and like the pad-feel, the keyboard is just right. Lighting of the pads and controls is also a very nice touch. Connects to your computer via a usb port. If you have an apple system, you'll likely need an adapter. The keyboard has 25 notes, but you can use octave down or up buttons and expand the range. You choose the tempo with a tap-tempo button, you set the pace by tapping your finger on it. I don't really like the 4-axis thumb stick as I'd prefer arrow buttons, but it's not a problem overall. The pads are for drum hits, BUT, you can set them for other sounds and are speed as well as pressure sensitive. You can play a series of notes and press the "note repeat" button to have those notes continuously repeat as you add in your beats etc. Lots of fun! SIZE: width is 12 and 1/2 inches. front to back is 7 inches exactly height, from table to top of buttons and knobs is at 2 inches. I like it, and I definitely recommend it.

I don't own several items needed to have the proper functionality for this professional keyboard sound—first, an AMP, and secondly, some musical ability or background. Being a novice can have its drawbacks, but in this case, it can also show you that even an old lady with none of the things listed above was able, with a little bit of effort, a whole lot of love for music, and an excellent piece of equipment be able to in a short period teach herself how to play music. The instruction booklet with the AKAI Professional MPK Mini MK3 25 Key USB MIDI Keyboard Controller with 8 Backlit Drum Pads & 8 Knobs is user-friendly. It has the Music Production Software, which makes it easy to play all styles of Piano music. I enjoyed toying around with the different sounds, and I didn't have to BUY anything extra. This was great. All I did was pair my Bluetooth headphones. You could use corded ones if you have those. There is a slot for that on this keyboard. The sound is very professional, as it says, sharp, crisp and clear. The keys themselves are perfect, as is the pitch. I very much enjoyed my newest gadget, where I stepped out of the box and taught myself something new and enjoyed every moment of it.
Everything is tactile and responsive, and the keys feel great to use. Pads are easily the highlight, being extremely dynamic and responding to even the slightest touch, but requiring you to really hit it if you wanna max out the vel. Fantastic if you're looking for something small to travel with you. There are programs to download. You have to set up separate accounts to do so. It is plug and play and many programs you have already may work with it instead.
Well made electronic keyboard with Drum Pads to add drum section to your creations. There is one USB port to connect to a PC or Laptop in order to connect to the midi processing software included. Took one star off for lack of midi in and midi out ports. Will only work with a connected computer or laptop. Also, the power supply is only via the USB cable. No headphone jack and no batteries or external power transformer. power supply unless you bring a laptop. Has a sustain pedal jack to be able to increase volume via foot pedal . No foot pedal included. Future adds for a $20 increase: sustain pedal, power jack, midi ports.
The software installation is a bit difficult but it is possible. This is for my son and he's had some progress on getting things downloaded and connecting it to whatever he already has set up in his music room. I know nothing about this so if you want to buy it, make sure you know exactly what you're doing. This isn't just a keyboard that automatically plays music. You need to not only understand music but need to be a tech of this type of product. The device itself is plastic. Seems durable enough for what it'll be used for. So I've been told by my son. He's enjoying tinkering with it. So I'm guessing he likes it. For a recommendation, I would say yes if the person is knowledgeable with this type of product.
I do not understand how to operate this. I thought it was a keyboard so I cannot give a recommendation because I could not operate it. I do not have recording instruments and they download was hard to do. It took quite a while to get to the right side and to download the correct information. I am sorry that I ordered this in error. I will be more careful in the future. Thank you
