This is the ONLY toothpaste I can use because of an allergy to most toothpaste flavors, particularly mint. The local store I previously found the ginger flavor no longer carries it. I'm so glad I can order direct from Desert Essence.
I don't know how long I've been using this toothpaste, though its been a long time. I had developed an issue with my lips; they were cracked, itchy, red and painful. The lining in my mouth would peel and all the doctors and dentists had no clue. By chance I saw this in a store and decided to try it. The rest is history. Fluoride free, great check ups at the dentist and great taste
I love the fact that it leaves a more neutral flavor in the mouth, not strong overpowering mint. I am a coffee roaster and need to be able to taste the coffee, not the overpowering mint. On the down side, the tube the toothpaste is contained in has been changed and is very thin and floppy. After removing about half ot the product it is much harder to control and use the rest. Please go back to your previous toothpaste tube.
I dislike mint toothpastes because I find them to be really overwhelming. They're just not for me. On the other hand, when I bought this toothpaste I ranted and raved like a bit of a nutcase to most of my close friends about how much I adore it. It sounds strange, but you do brush your teeth every day (or I do, because of this toothpaste) and it might as well be a pleasant experience. It has a mellow, invigorating (and someone quirky, in the best way) ginger flavor that doesn't reek of artificiality and it doesn't make food or coffee taste strange afterwards. It's not harsh and it leaves the mouth feeling fresh and smelling delicious.
I found out I was allergic to mint. This is the only toothpaste I could find that didn't contain anything I'm allergic to. Ginger was a bit strong at first, yet I am adjusting to it.
I've been using this for 20+ years. A friend once said "it's the worst tasting toothpaste in the world, but it works!" I like the taste. People seem to think they have to have "fresh mint" flavor to feel clean. NOT so. My hygienists always compliment me and I say it's the toothpaste I use! PLEASE DO NOT DISCONTINUE! I would have to make my own!
Ginger Toothpaste is pleasant, effective, not overpowering, and reasonably priced. A tube lasted me about 8 months, brushing teeth three times a day, every day. It is unique, pretty and good.
I bought three of these. Mint, Ginger and Fennel. I tried them all. This flavor is really not easy for me to handle. I do not like it. I LOVE The mint one. It is wonderful and the toothpaste itself is really great. Perhaps the ginger flavor will grow on me :/
The first few times I used it I wasn't sure if I would continue to use the product, mainly because of the taste but I think it was because it was just different than your typical minty flavour, with continued use I really started to enjoy it and found that it did keep my mouth fresh. I wear a retainer at night and usually in the morning it smells pretty gross but I have found since using the Ginger toothpaste it still smells/taste fresh when I take my retainer out in the morning. It definitely last long, the taste is different than most toothpastes but not strong/spicey ginger, it's mellow.
Loved this until I realized it has Carageenan in it. No thanks.
