The one good thing about this phone, is if you dont abuse it and it quits, ATT and/or Walmart will replace it for free if still under a 1 year warranty...as most phones are. So yes...the touch screen might quit in 4 months, but you can get a new one! And maybe they will get better or fix the problem...one would hope.

Great phone, confused by bad reviews, Please Read.

Normally I wouldn't buy a product with bad reviews, and when I first bought this phone I don't remember looking at any reviews, I simply went out to wal-mart and bought a new phone to replace my old one. The good thing about this phone is that it was originally made as a "Go-Phone". Thanks to a helpful tip from an AT&T associate I learned you could put a sim card into a go phone and turn it into a normal phone. Thanks to this you don't have to reupgrade and worry about the two year fee thing. It was $100 when I paid for it and I've owned it since October 2010, it is now a few days from May 2011. About the phone: I don't use internet for phone at all except for sending multimedia, like pictures. It sends them relatively fast and it is nice quality for pictures. The touchscreen is a little tricky but once again you get used to it, good for silent texters who don't want to annoy with the clicky-button phones. The only problem I have experienced with this phone is its random turning off sessions or simple texting issues that have popped up. No biggie though. Seriously, I'm very happy with the product and hope it keeps up the good work. Oh, and I usually never lack service. :) Not like my old phones! I DO recommend this product.

Touch Screen Issues

I have had this phone for over six months and it has been great, until today. The touch screen is off, it selects everything to the right of what you push. The calibration screen doesn't recognize the touch...research online shows others have had this problem. Called ATT and LG for troubleshooting and no solution. I have research and many others have experienced this with NO SOLUTION...besides a new phone or repair that is. :) hope this helps.

Full-featured, but poorly performing phone

I recently purchased 4 of these phones, as the two Wal-marts in my area are on longer carrying AT&T phones (at least pre-paid ones). I opened three in a row, that AT&T technical support claimed had bad sim cards. Turns out the AT&T signal was so weak where I am (but not 1 mile away), that the phone could not be activated from my home. I was able to activate them, once I drove a mile from my home. For over a week, I was unable to make any calls from my home area. Also, the touch sceen has numerous significant issues. Despite numerous recallibrations, I could not get the virtual keyboard to not make errors in almost every word while texting. VERY poor design and implementation. Also, the "auto lock" keyboard feature works VERY poorly. When set to "30 seconds", the keys lock back up in 5 seconds (all 4 did this). This made trying to do ANYTHING very inconvenient, as you have to keep unlocking the keyboard. And yet, the phone would (seemingly) magically unlock and connect to the internet while in my pocket (downloading things, for which I would be charged (until I had the internet blocked on my account)). This, too, happened on each of the four phones. All that being said, the phone is full-featured, and a fairly good value (considering you get $50 in airtime include in the $99 sale price). However, overall I don't think it's worth it, given all the problems with the touch screen. Also, even when stationary, the signal strength would go from 0 to 4 bars and back and forth.

Possibly the worst phone I have ever purchased

I can't say enough negative things about this phone, especially it's "touch screen". You can't use this phone, for the most part, without using the touch screen. It is SO unresponsive. More often than not, when you press a button for a function (or especially when texting) you get the character/function NEXT to the one you want. It is SO infuriating. I have recalibrated the touch screen a bunch of times. Have even exchanged the phone itself for a brand new one, 8-10 times. All have had this issue The phone can turn itself on or off. This even while the keypad is in "locked" mode. Speaking of the locked mode. Even when that is turned off, it will usually lock automatically in a few seconds. When set to "30 seconds", it typically locks within 5. Each of my units have had this same issue. You can't imagine how challenging it is to get AT&T to remove internet charges that you did not aurthorize (when the phone, with keypad locked, pocket connects to the internet, and downloads stuff). I had to have my internet access blocked (which means no picture messaging) to get them to credit the large charge. Run, do not walk from this phone. Avoid at all costs.

I really wish I would have read the reviews before purchasing this phone because it works for about three months and then the touch screen goes out on it. Trust me its really not worth the hassle!

DO NOT BUY THIS 3-4 MONTH WORKING PHONE

This phone had everything I wanted for a great price. I got it as a birthday present and it was great! However, after four months the touch screen calibration stopped working properly. I did research about this phone but it was still new at my time of purchase. I took care of my phone, and was confused to why I could only temporarily fix it. Come to find out most people had the same problem with this phone after three or four months. If the touch screen worked properly, I would not complain at all because it had great features and wonderful battery life. But, $100 is not a deal if it does not last at least a year. Save your money and look else where.

The worst thing about this phone is the touch screen. This screen requires you to press on the screen with a fair amount of pressure or it will not recognize your touch. Also, the screen is very poor quality, like a kids toy. Before you buy this phone, do an internet search for the "LG Prime" and you will find a huge number of complaints about the touch screen going out after only 2 or 3 months. That is what happened to me, the screen failed after only 2 months. Most stores will not allow you to return the phone after 30 days, so when the screen fails after 60 days, you are stuck with a useless phone. You can send it to LG for warranty repair, but with a week for them to receive it, a week to repair it, and a week to return it, you will be without a phone for almost a month. --- There is a temporary fix you can try, it worked for me but may not work for everyone. With the screen facing up, hold one end of the phone in one hand and the other end in the other hand, then gently twist the ends of the phone in opposite directions (be careful not to twist too hard, you may cause more damage). In my case, the screen began working again. But this is only a temporary fix because the screen will go out again. The only permanent fix is to replace the entire phone. -- It seems this is a poor quality phone with poor quality control at the factory. Also, be advised, the phone is much smaller than it looks in most pictures -- it`s MUCH smaller than an Iphone.
