I've always used tracfone since I only want a basic way of communicating if an emergency comes up and I'm out running the streets. I don't text or even keep a voice mail, that's how old school I am. I maintain a home phone and answering machine and work from home, and everybody knows I'm not much for talking on the phone to begin with. I wanted an upgrade from my old tracfone and bought this one when I realized I could keep my old tracfone number and could transfer all my minutes over. The little camera is nice. I can do voice mail and text if I want (I don't). It's not expensive. My tracfone service is fine, no complaints there. My sister, who's more into playing with phones, says she really likes it and wouldn't mind switching down to a model like this one.

Great Pay As You Go Phone

I was paying Verizon over $40 a month, in contract, for minutes I never used. Ordered this one from WalMart when my contract was up, didn't see it in the store. Very similar phone to what I had so the transition was easy. It comes with double minutes and there are great deals on Minute Cards you get from Trac Fone. I got the year, paid $100 and now I'm all set for a year. Easy. Great reception, voice mail, etc.

I am using it for an alert device. The cost is much less than any of the alert systems, and I know for sure if I need it, calling 911 will be immediate instead of going through an alert system. $8/mo is a lot cheaper and more dependable than alert systems that can go up to $100/mo. The phone is small enough to carry in my pocket wherever I go.

After reading as many reviews as I could about this little phone, I made the purchase. I was looking for one of the TracFone's with a Verizon network (the C after model #)and EASY to use. I previously had a Motorola W376g and it was T-Mobile which had TERRIBLE coverage in my area. I now get GREAT coverage even inside my house and the phone is 100 times easier to navigate and use. I LOVE IT!

I have a land line phone and found no reason to keep an expensive contract phone with Verizon. I began searching a number of alternatives and I am very pleased with the decision to go with this Tracfone. Read a number of reviews on line about this particular model that were all excellent. This phone is very good quality, easy to use and simple to set up at home. The phone came with double minutes and extended the use time from three to six months. We purchased this phone for emergency and occasional use and could not be happier with it. The savings over a simple flip phone with Verizon will be significant. Highly recommend this model to anyone who is not a heavy cell phone user.

I bought this phone to use as a phone. Not to use as a camera or to browse the internet or to send text, although it is supposed to do all of the above. I have not tried those functions. What I use it for is to talk into and converse with another person. So far, it seems to do that very well, but I've only had it for a couple of weeks and so I would expect that it should work well at this point in time. The only thing that I have found that I could possibly consider a defect is that the flip phone joint connection is not quite as tight as my previous Trac Fone. But, it is very minor and does not appear to harm it's operation. If it continues to work well for the next 2 to 3 years, I will be very happy indeed.

My husband had an older Tracfone and not only was it showing its age but he was unable to get coverage in some areas that he travels to. His only needs were a phone with large buttons, loud ring tone and coverage for the areas he goes to. After researching all the tracfones I felt this would fit his needs and ordered it. I am happy to say this phone fit the bill. While this phone offers a camera and ability to go online he does not use them. His only problem would be the volume adjustment button on the left side of the phone that he hits accidently. When I setup his phonebook I also setup the voice mail and that is a problem because once setup it cannot be disabled. The problem is a voicemail he cannot hear and plays over & over thus using minutes up.

This is my 5th Tracfone in 10 yrs. I like them. Thanks to product reviews, I recently discovered that model numbers that end with a "C" (LG 236C), use Verizon towers, which have the best coverage outside of large population areas. My last Tracfone used AT&T and my use was limited on hunting & fishing trips in rural PA & MT, so I am very saisfied with reception. This phone is simple to use with the basic features I need. I recommend using Tracfone's website instead of customer service-the operator's accent can be difficult to understand.

Excellent Alternative to Verizon Pay As You Go

Verizon has an awesome network and the only one that provides a consistent signal at my home. Verizon's non-contract plans are NOT awesome. This is a well featured phone from a well known maker that allows access to what is arguably the best network in the US. The phone has good features, is somewhat lightly constructed compared to other LG products I've owned, but represents a very good overall value. Not built for web browsing. Not ideal for significant texting. But for those who are into 'voice' calling, a good bet. Tracfone's plans are pretty unbeatable for users with lower usage.

I was looking for a TracFone to replace my very, very old TracFone that was no longer working. I live in a rural, mountainous area that has very little cell service, and used the phone mostly when travelling. I wanted to stick with TracFone as I had over 1500 minutes to transfer, so decided to try this one and I was pleasantly surprised to find that I do have enough of a signal at my home to make calls. So this will be appreciated when our electricity goes out, as our land-line phones go out as well. I am pleased with the phone price and ease of use as well.
