This phone is not a smart phone and is not powered by Android. It does however use a lot of the same features like touch screen, wi-fi, etc. I believe it powered by windows but as far as I am concerned, it is a great little phone for the price. You can call with crystal clear clarity, text like all phones, play games that you can purchase for minutes, and use wi-fi for free. All you have to do is know how to do it or have a super smart son, I have two of them, and you are in business. It is great for pre-smart phones, kids, and older adults that use Safelink or Tracfone.

Easy to use with all the tutorials avaliable online. I was able to activate and transfer my minutes, etc. while it was plugged into my PC and charging. It comes with a 4gb sd card in the phone already and is capable of using larger ones. SD card is easy to install and the cord which is included can be used to charge the phone and transfer music files from my PC. Also comes with a plug adaptor for use with cord to plug into a socket to charge. I have lots of MP3 files and have already downloaded and listening now! You can also change the size of the keypad from small to medium or large which is very helpful to me as I suffer from severe athritis. I also was able to take pictures and add them to my contacts while editing! Good price but has many of the same features as more expensive phones. I have had many Tracfone cells and always have coverage wherever I go even rural, remote areas.

Better than the LG800 that I was using

I was notified by Tracfone that my LG-800 would no longer be able to work on their network (2G). The LG-800 was an OK phone..... when it would turn on. It would go into a deep sleep that I had to press the On button many times to make it turn on. Tracfone was offering the 306G for free to replace 2G phones that are no longer supported. I decided to buy this phone instead because the one that Tracfone sent me would not have the triple minutes. In the long run, the triple minutes would cover the costs of buying the phone. I use this phone to answer service calls for my GPS business. It has many more features than the LG-800 and is slightly larger. It is WI-FI capable, which will allow you to use your router and save on phone minutes surfing the web. The browser is rather limited and will kick you out of a website if the website information exceeds the memory limit of the phone. It will speak the text messages in voice as they are received and give you voice prompts as you go through menus. It also has voice recognition allowing you step through functions. The touchscreen is responsive and appears to work well. The camera works well too. While you are given the option to have a full QWERTY keyboard when having the phone oriented horizontally, you have to select it each time. It would be nice to have it able to be set as the default keyboard. The buttons on the side are awkward, especially if you have the unit in a case. You will find you are turning on the phone, when pulling it out from a tight case. I haven't had the chance to try it while driving but it works well indoors. It is not a flashy smart phone but it does work well.

Easier to use than my previous phone

With the touch pad, this phone is easier to use than my previous flip phone and has more functions. I am not sure how many of the functions that I will use such as the mp3 player. It has worked perfectly so far. My one immediate surprise is then when you are texting or entering information in the address book, it mimics a flip phone in that you still have hit the 2 key on the touch pad twice to type a B. I thought with a touch screen and the state of computer programming that they could give you a keyboard on the touch screen.

I have a landline. This is just for while I'm at work because I don't have a phone at my desk, so I don't use cellphones often. I spilled liquid on my previous LG TracFone which I liked. This one is similar. I don't even try to get ringtones, games, or any other bells and whistles so I'm not disappointed. It came with a 4gb macro sd card which was great. The MP3 sound is "good enough". Overall, it's a nice little phone.

I bought this phone for my daughter, she seems to enjoy it and it does everything her other phone did. The internet is extra though. The face is touch active and it takes really good pics. sound quality is good, not the best but good enough. Signal strength is good as we live pretty far out and can still call out without losing signal during the conversation. All in all it is a good value for the price paid.

The tracfone was really easy to switch from my previous provider over to this one online. It was activated & ready to go in less than 10 minutes. It's easy to navigate & still learning how to do certain things. I've previously had Samsung pre-paid phones & never get another one. They always had this annoying beep every 30 seconds or so when you're trying to talk to someone. The only thing is the keyboard to text is a little small, but I kind of expected that. Very happy with my purchase.

Great phone for the price but ….

I purchased this phone because I am working for the summer in an area where my regular cell phone service, and phone obviously, do not work. Activation was wonderful, in 7 minutes I was making a call from the middle of the woods. HOWEVER, there is a very annoying female voice that announces every move you make on the phone and there seems to be no way to turn her off. Even in silencing the phone she can not be silenced. I contacted technical support and after reviewing the manual they concurred with my finding that I would not be able to silence the annoying female. I guess for the price and ability to have phone service I will have to put up with her but I put my phone on silent for a reason so her voice breaking that silence is a bit of an issue for me. Overall, triple minutes for life, texting, camera, voicemail and very easy to use with price of $40 have trumped the voice. Guess I will give her a name and now have a tag a long friend :-) Hope this helps anyone looking for a phone

Ringer volume not very good.

My biggest complaint is with the ringer not being loud enough. I am hard of hearing and cant seem to hear the ringer, it is find as long as I hold it in my hand but if I put it in my pocket it is difficult to hear. I have adjusted the volume to as loud as it will go to no avail, even the vibe mode is not sufficient.

Great phone- if media messages worked!

This phone has fantastic 3g service. It works in the basement and everything. The problem is I can't get media or picture messages- or send them. It still takes my minutes though! I have spent MULTIPLE hours trying to understand the tracfone people as they told me to repeatedly turn on and of the phone, take out the battery, remove the cover, sim card etc., punch in this code, and on and on and on. Every time I call they ask me to do the same thing!!! Still no pictures or ability to get messages or group messages from my family with smart phones. Granted, they offered to replace my sim card. I am pretty sure it is something that happened here. My son, husband, and daughter (with different tracfones-one a smart one) can no longer receive them either, but tracfone will not listen. So, take heart. It is a great phone but if you like your family and they have better phones you might want something else.
