I love the brand and all the different type vegetables used in their steamable packs. I can not afford fresh vegetables by buying a pound or half pound of 4 to 6 different vegetables just to make a mixed meal. The price come in second to fresh every time I buy steamables. For the price and the varity I can enjoy more healthy fresh vegetables daily.
Birds eye Asian medley is one of my favorite. Easy to cook whether it is steam or microwave.I also like that it is already seasoned and I can store in the fridge for a long time and still fresh.
My family eats Steamfresh veggies with every meal. This particular one is my favorite. I love the combo with the baby corn. The mix of variety in the bag is great. I highly recommend this!
We add some cubed tofu and a bit of red miso paste to this while it cooks, and serve over rice or bulgur wheat for a tasty dish in only about 15 minutes.
Quick dinner with leftover chicken cutlets, leftover rice, Birds Eye Steamfresh Asian Medley, a little chopped onion, Kikkoman Soy Sauce and a fried egg on top. 10 minutes and boom
This is an easy side dish but add protein and noodles and you can have a whole meal. It's so easy to just cook in the bag and for the variety of veggies you get in one bag the price isn't bad either. The only complaint I have is that the veggies aren't crisp. But you can't expect crisp veggies after microwaving them. So when I'm in a hurry I like to use these veggies in a bag.
I like the vegetable combination (in order of prevalence)- carrots, red bell pepper, broccoli, little corns on cob, snow peas. There are quite a few carrots. Better to steam in bag than put frozen in skillet (everything gets soggy while waiting for large broccoli pieces to cook). But the drawback for me is the veggies are lightly seasoned in some kind of odd slightly sweet tasting sauce that does not taste very Asian to me.
I bought the Asian Medley. I tried it tonight. Turns out, the bag was mislabeled. It should have been labeled “Carrots.” To be fair, there were also six pieces of baby corn in the mix, and several pea pods. There was also one broccoli floret. I was unhappy about that because I disapprove of tokenism in all its forms. The takeaway: If you enjoy julienned carrots more than anything, this is the vegetable medley for you!
This is the worst frozen food I have ever purchased. It is still cooking but after opening the bag… total disappointment. Zero stars if I could. Carrots only. 2 broccoli, 1 snap pea and NO CORN AT ALL! Glad to share photos. This item should be refunded!
There was literally 1 green bean. And the brocolli was almost non existent. Little to no flavor.
