Blemished. "Scratch & Dent" or "Blemished" products are denoted by a "-2" after the product code. They are New and Unused but are considered Second Quality. This means that there is some aesthetic irregularity. The irregularities may include, blisters in the shellac finish, stains, scratches or dents, discoloration in the wood or finish, rust or pitting on metals, imperfect glazes, manufacturer's repairs, or some other mark on the surface. The irregularity does not affect the playability or sound quality of the instrument. As with any scratch & dent offer, these are a great value. Six course oud with classic tear drop shape and bowl bottom. It includes 5 wound nylon strings and 6 rectified nylon strings, as well as a fixed sheesham bridge. The body and neck are made from sheesham and the bowl has white pinstripes in between each wooden stave. The neck, nut, and tuning pegs/levers are also made out of sheesham. Its soundboard is made out of spruce wood and has three oval shaped sound holes, one larger one in the center and two smaller ones below on the sides. Each have a beautiful geometric design around edge. There is also a sheesham pick guard at bottom to help prevent scratching sound board when playing. The decorations can vary from those photographed. This oud contains a great selection of woods and wonderful craftsmanship. There are multiple tuning options for instrument, but we recommend using the Arabic method: DGADGC. This oud has a range of more than 3 octaves. Accessories include a gig bag and Owner's Guide. Your instrument has completed a long journey to your home. During this time the strings WILL oxidize and this may shorten their life expectancy and may reduce their sound quality. On occasion instruments may arrive with a broken string, therefore, it is recommended that you purchase a replacement set of strings and consider changing your strings as soon as it arrives.
