I purchased this item for my granddaughter's 10th birthday. She loved it so much and felt it was the best gift ever. I believe it has helped to create a new "star". I would highly recommend this item.
I bought this microphone for my daughters 4th bday party. It is totally awesome! My sister and I hooked up our laptop to it and allowed the "singers" to request songs. We played the songs straight from YouTube!! Everyone from 4 to 50 sang and it was awesome! It was a great touch to our party and I will definitely bring it out for any family gathering we have :)
I am very pleased with mine, I love to sing and have owned a previous karoke. This one is the better of the two and the sound quality is good, I don't have any complaints, everything arrived just as it should have :)

I ordered this and it showed up the very next day... it wasn't even 24hours! I bought this for my niece (11yrs old) and she sent me a video about 2 hours later having a blast with her 16yr old sister who had hooked up her guitar! They were having so much fun I couldn't believe it! It was the best Christmas present EVER!
My 12 year old daughter loves it. It is exactly what she was hoping for for Christmas. She especially likes the voice enhancing features and the ability to use any song from her iPod Touch device. It comes with everything you need. No Apps to install. I suggest you import the lyrics so you can read while you sing (in iTunes right-click on song, Get Info, select Lyrics, then paste the lyrics from an internet source or other). It is well constructed and I believe a good value for the price. Not your traditional Karaoke machine. A modern take on a somewhat old device.
Nice speaker system, durably built, but only takes the vocals completely out of a relatively few songs. Some are just garbled, others it doesn't seem to touch. The microphone has some fun effects and is good enough for singing around the house, but you have to have your mouth awfully close to pick up the sound. As an ipod speaker, microphone mix it's a nice product, but since the karaoke option is very hit and miss, I think it's a bit pricey for what you are getting. My teenage daughter tends to use hers more as a stereo system so we could have bought an IHome with more usable options much cheaper.
We bought this for my 9 year old daughter for Christmas. It broke the second time we used it! Also, the new iPhone 4S doesn't fit in the intended holder although we were able to make it work by leaning it against the holder. The speaker system is average to poor. With all that said though, for the price I will likely try to exchange it for one that works because the microphone stand makes karaoke all the more fun!
Great concept but poorly made. I bought this on line as a gift. I helped my niece for a hour to figure out why it wouldn't work. The connection for the microphone into the stand was the problem, but no amount of tape can fix the problem. Since I ordered on line and by niece is in a different city, returning this will be problematic
