Works exactly as described and has already improved my running. Is easy to use and can go anywhere. Wish I had bought the heart rate monitor.
I've been running with my Forerunner 205 for 3 weeks now, and I can't imagine running without it. Much of my training plan has me doing tempo, interval or speed work, and I used to have to do those runs on a treadmill to accurately vary my pace. Now I can do all of my running outside. The GPS acquires satellites very quickly as long as I set the unit on the ground, turn it on and don't move it until it finishes acquiring. The Training Center software and MotionBased website give great ways to track and analyze my runs. The price was the lowest I found anywhere. Site to Store shipping was painfully slow (10 days from when I ordered it), so I'd recommend just paying for shipping. Other than that, great experience overall.
The watch is a little bulky, but not as bad as the pictures look. It's great if you're a little bit obsessive (like me) about how far you've run, your pace and where you've been. There's even more you can do with it, but I think I need a bit more practice. As for the GPS signal, I don't have any huge problems. It takes a while to find a signal, but I've been running in wooded areas and the only thing that suffers is that the pace (mins per mile) becomes worse than it should be (I was expecting to not have a signal at all). I've heard it also cuts out near high buildings, but no experience so far.
