The handheld device is fine so far, the connection to the pc is not! The vantage point software from Magellian is beyond bad. Most time the triton will not talk to VP. You also need to download manual by Net. Good luck getting firmware updates. If using GPS for not getting lost, good unit, rest is bad. Wish I was not the first person to do the review!!!!!
i bought this gps hopeing i could finally go hunting and not have to worry about getting lost...yeah....i used it once it went somewhat well.....then went out again and went about well from what it said 2 miles and then it just froze and it was a blank screen so i turned it off then turned it back on and i lost my rout and everything so i had to finde a road to get back to my car....so i finally got back a few hours later restarted the unit and everything and just stayed blank would turn on and then nothing would come up.....
This product was a mistake from the word go. MINIMAL instructions for installation and use. User guide is practically non-existent. Ended up returning the item because the computer would not recognize that it was even connected. Absolutely NO troubleshooting help included. Ended up going to an outside forum to discover the issue.
After owning many hand helds over the years this is by far the biggest piece of junk out there. look else where and leave megellan alone.
I have owned several GPS, I was sucked into thie one by the claim on the National Geographic Map softwhere that this unit was the only one I could download the State USG map to. Some thirty hours later with stupid so called support from NGM and Magellan the unit sits on top of my dresser as a paper weight. I wish I had read a review before I bought this on e-bay for a hundred dollars.
