This is the second Garmin GPS devices I've owned. This one is an upgrade for me. WM had the best price by far compared to several other retailers. The GPS itself is great. If anyone has used a Garmin GPS before, they upgraded the software and it's easier to navigate through the options. The traffic updates seem to work just fine for rerouting around congestion. The bluetooth connection to my cell phone is pretty nifty. I'm very happy with upgrading to this model.
I researched several GPS units before deciding upon this product and am very satisfied with the accuracy of the directions especially for the $$$ I spent on it and all the features including points of interest and restaurants, etc. My whole family has enjoyed playing with it!
The blue tooth on this works perfectly. I didnt know you could use it to send a text message with a full size widescreen keyboard, this is a very nice option. The only problem I have with it is everyone wants to take it off my dash to play with it while I'm driving...
I used this to upgrade from my current model (c550). I love that is is widescreen. Very easy to use. Been on a couple of road trips since I got this new model and everything thing was correct. Only problem is the FM transmitter. It is not very powerful and I am unable to use it in my car.
I purchased this GSP before my husband and I drove from Oceanside CA to Champaign IL, we know the route we where going to take before we purchased, but it was nice to have because of the handfree bluetooth and ability to know what's ahead. We were able to avoid a major traffic jam in Missouri due to a snow. We have also used it when we where house hurting to find the houses on our list and find the best route to take.
After reading the many reviews of this product, I decided between the price and comments to take the plunge. While I was expecting some of the features of my brothers model I am not disappointed in the unit itself. The screen is clear and easy to see while driving and not a distraction. Everything about this GPS is what it advertises. What's not said is that the FM Transmitter must be recalibrated after driving for a few minutes to a new station number and it's not something that's easy to do while driving. There maybe an easier way to do this than I have found...so I'll keep looking.
I haven't fully done everything with the GPS. I just needed to find my way around confusing Houston. Only problem I've had (probably because I haven't fully read the instructions), was once I started fiddling with the bluetooth and my radio, the sound has not returned to the unit. I love that I can stick it to the widshield, then take it with me, and put the charger in the glove compartment. It loads up fairly quickly, compared to the Mio I had previously. I like the bigger screen and it stays charged for a long time. I guess I will get it's full potential when I read the instructions. LOL. BUY IT, IT'S WORTH IT!!!
This is a nice product. The only regret is getting with the bluetooth. The bluetooth isn't as good. You can hear people okay but people have a hard time understanding what you are saying. Based on the price of this model, the blue tooth isn't worth it! Nice product though!
I really liked this unit! It tells you what your average speed is to include the highest speed reached. It tells you what the speed limit is also so you are not seaching and wondering between exits and signs on long trips. I liked knowing where the gas stations were along the way as well. There were too many features to list here, but I would buy another if I had to.
This is my first gps, but I reveiwed others before my purchase. My local area it don't send me the shortest route. I used it on a 3hr. drive & it took me right to the address in 30 min less time than driving directions & time from the internet. It was a good purchase for the money. The blue tooth worked great & the calculator is handy for calulating gas milage. ram97
