This hoverboard is pretty cool. First time trying one. Not too hard to learn to ride it. Fully charged in few hours and ready to go. Hold just over 200lbs limit. Steady operation. LED lights and bluetooth connectivity. Seems to hold charge for sometime. Didn't try to go fast yet and only tried on carpet.
This new Hover-1 Chrome is a must have. It's compact with led display and fender lights to help with navigation. It's power packed with about 7mph at max speed. It weighs about 16lbs, and is about 23 inches in width. The one I selected is a Chrome deep blue with black trims. It's available in other colors. Before first use please ensure that the Hover-1Chrome is fully charge it will indicate with a green light which fully charge. It's very modern and stylish. Also, my most favorite part is it's Bluetooth capabilities with built-in speakers to listen to your favorite music while you scoot around. It's easy to setup and the usual manual is very clear and easy to follow. The weight load is up to 200lbs. This Hover-1Chrome can be fun and enjoyment for the entire family. Please ride safely and ensure that you have you protective gears which is also available from Hover. I am very pleased and excited about this product and will definitely be recommending to family and friends.
I hoped for no injuries but before I even opened the box I caught my small toe on the edge and bent it back giving myself an entire foot bruise. Once I did open the box and charged it i gingerly got on after donning my helmet. balancing is manageable and riding it is fun and even exciting at least for me. Maximum speed of 7 mph may not seem like much but it's exciting when you're balancing and controlling it yourself. A charge will take you a maximum of 6 miles but it doesn't go that far if you're speeding along on it. However 6 miles is more than I have energy for. I would definitely recommend this item. Someone younger than I could do more with it I'm sure.
Hover-1 is fun for young (ages 15+) and old!! So much fun!! Max weight is 220 lbs which is great for adults. This is not just for teens LoL! LED headlights and fender lights are on while you're going and shut off automatically when the scooter is off. Comes with a rechargeable power cord. Pedals are slip resistant and it goes about 7 miles per hour. This particular Hover Board is for sidewalks and asphalt. Had a blast riding around the tennis court!! Pretty easy to maneuver but you have to have good balance. Make sure you wear a helmet. Yup, I am one hip 63 year old keeping up with the 55 year olds!! LoL!! Too much fun!!
I was hoping to keep the Hover-1 Chrome Hoverboard for the Holidays, but the grandkids found it, so it became an early present (As if could stop them). They quickly mastered the balance of the Hoverboard and were riding with ease. I am envious, we had nothing like this when I was young. I had not purchased the safety equipment when they found the Hoverboard so I will do that right away. Nobody fell or was injured and that was good, although there was some tripping and double stepping. Charging the Hoverboard took about 4 hours after they used it and I don't know how it went after that, the kids never complained. The safety equipment is going to be mandatory and I don't think they will mind one bit, they were having a lot of fun and surprisingly they shared very nice. I have a video of the first ride but I could not upload it.
This Hover Board is very cool. It is built so that each side-left and right-have sensors that help with balance and use of the board. It has colorful lights all over it that make it look futuristic. My granddaughter was able to ride it within a minute. She had to hold on to something while getting on it the first time but she rode it around the living room in circles without falling once. She is experienced at skate boarding but never on a hover board before. While it doesn't fly like in Back to the Future, it is a very cool looking hover board. It says it runs at 7.5 miles per hour. Should be used with safety equipment such as helmets, knee and elbow pads. Make sure to read the precautions on recharging the batteries and never keep it plugged in more than 6 hours. It takes 5 hours to fully charge. Out of the box it was fully charged. My 23 year old granddaughter tried to ride it and fell the first time. She is not experienced with riding skate boards. So be careful and take your time getting proficient on it and be safe.
The pros: This hover board is really a lot of fun. It has a fairly big battery that goes at least a few miles with an adult of 170 pounds riding it. It does take a good sense of balance to use. I haven't gotten the courage yet to go for top speed of 7mph. Think of it like a segway without the handle. The bluetooth integration and leds are great additions. The cons: None really, except I will probably break a hip or leg using this. I definitely need a helmet and pads, and would recommend others to use those as well. Overall a great product for what it is, and at a great price.
I opened the box and the Hover-1 Chrome looks nice, it's heavy! I plugged it in and all the lights lit up, I charged it overnight. I streamed music using my smartphone, it has nice bluetooth speakers, good sound. I thought I could just stand on it and go riding, nope it took off like lightning! The Hover-1 Chrome has a beginner mode. Push the button for a tune (long beep) "Standby mode" that allows you to put your H1 into a low-power standby state. Then for advanced mode turn it off and back on without pushing long enough for the beginner mode. Calibration instructions are included. The only thing that concerns me is the deck is made of plastic, so when this gets rode outside I think it will show any scuffs and scratches. It should go up to 7 miles per hour, and a distance of 6 miles.
This hoverboard it's something else! I got it for my son who is athletic and very fit. You must have perfect balance to be able to control it. Upon first use he had a really hard time balancing. There's nothing to hang onto, so you have to anticipate what it's going to do. It levels itself when you turn it on and your foot placement on the pads determines which way it turns. The only issue I can see anyone having is the balance of the body. Since there's nothing to hang onto it's difficult to stay upright. I'm sure with practice it would be a fun way to get around, but to me it appears deadly if you don't have perfect balance. It's quite heavy and sturdy. Very well-made and I'm sure anyone who has used one before would really enjoy this. The Bluetooth can hook up music through your phone, and I'm sure that would be a draw for young people. They say to wear a helmet but starting out I would think full body armor would be appropriate..lol. It's a quality product, but very difficult to acclimate to. I would suggest reading the manual carefully and going on YouTube to see some videos as to how other people have conquered the balance issue. I would recommend this to anyone who feels they are stable enough to control it.
This is my first experience with a hoverboard. Although I've dabbled with skateboarding I'm far from good at it - i only tried it to help my son with his skateboard. So unpacking the Hover-1 Chrome Hoverboard was exciting as we anticipated a different experience in "boarding". And it was. At first I struggled with the balancing and the loose action of the two moving sections. After getting the hang of it, i quickly got to like that same free action since it was integral to making the ride a smooth effortless process. My 5 yo and 6 yo were really eager to try it, and so we all had fun. It didnt take us long to get a good feel of the subtle balancing and turning requirements. At least for some of us. Here is my experience with it. Some of these observations seem to be common to all hoverboards: PROS: 1. Zero turn capabilty. We had fun spinning in circles and navigating tight courses after getting comfortable with it. Boys are always looking for a challenge they can compete in. 2. Very smooth action - turns, forward/backward transitions, smooth acceleration/deceleration 3. Fast (IMO)...rated at 6 mph but it seems a lot faster when you're about to crash. 4. Sturdy. The board does take a beating but I dont really mind the scuff marks as long as the casing holds up. And so far it does seem quite tough. 5. Very long battery charge. We dont do miles of hoverboarding, just around parking lots, community and playgrounds, but I was still surprised at how long the board kept a charge. We went at least 2 weeks without having to charge it. I really hope the battery continues to perform that way throughout the life of the board. 6. Battery saver feature - it shuts off after a few minutes of inactivity. Very convenient for my forgetful youngsters. 7. Built-in Bluetooth speaker. Very nice feature for safe riding with music accompaniment, direct from my phone. The sound is sufficiently loud and full because the speaker's position under the board, which optimizes the volume and the lower frequencies by bouncing the sound off the pavement. Pretty cool. However I couldn't help noticing the lack of a stereo effect. After all its just one small speaker and it works for the purpose it was intended. CONS 1. Not good on rough surfaces, asphalt, or rolling over sidewalk joints. Not sure if this is really a negative since its obviously not designed for offroading with its small hard wheels. 2. The gunmetal finish gets beat up pretty quickly. Usually when there's a rough exit that sometimes rolls the entire board. 3. Charging port cap does not stay on. I may need to protect the port with tape. 4. Heavy but portable. Easy for a 10 y.o. to carry but not a 6 y.o. This is typical of most hoverboards though. 5. Dismounting from the board can be tricky. I had to learn the quick 2-step method - and never to dismount from the front! Brutal attacks on the heels and ankles if you do. Again, typical of all hoverboards, I think. CONCLUSION: Its a lot of fun. Definitely easier to learn than a skateboard. You'll be an expert rider in no time if you're prepared to bump into things and a possible fall in the beginning. We were prepared - we practiced on carpet. Its not just a momentary thrill that you forget about after the initial fun. It has long lasting use and is more than a fad - similar to the utility of a bike. But not every child will like it. My younger son (5 yo) gravitated to it immediately, even after falling or bumping into obstacles. Now he's an expert after only a few rides. Proves that the recommended age could be a lot younger. The older son (6 yo) seems to be traumatized by his first fall (nothing serious) and the frequent bumping of the board against his heels. No amount of assistance and assurance was getting him past that anxiety threshold. Yet he's the gymnast of the family - go figure. So no fault of the hoverboard, just be sure its suited to the temperament and age of your child. I ride it and i love it.
