I am very pleased so far. The instructions on this product are written poorly, but the product is intuitive enough that you can figure it all out. Speaker quality is fine for waking you up to your ipod music. Works as well as an ihome. I hope it will last longer--had an expensive ihome -- the buttons quit responding./
This alarm clock replaced my old one that was 27 years old. It's taken a little time to readjust - but I'm finding I really like this item. It's nice to choose between the radio/ipod/buzzer to wake to and it's definitely loud enough to wake me. The only down side is there is not alot of detailed instructions for troubleshooting and on mine the ipod connection is a little touchy - sometimes it gets disconnected. If I don't use the dock insert it's better. Overall I like this product. It does alot for the money.
The product itself is great. I got this for my niece who will be going to college next year. The only problem is it says it works for all IPODS. It will not charge the IPOD Nano-Chromatic. It will play it and let you use it for your alarm, but will not charge it.
I purchased this item for my brother who is a very heavy sleeper and tends to sleep right through alarms. The first time that he used this, he ended up waking right up. He said that it was loud (you can change the setting) and it was nice to wake up to music that he liked.
I've looked at tons of iPod alarm clocks and have seen many pricey units with sub-par functionality. This one works really well, with the minor exception that if you turn the volume all the way up the sound quality deteriorates. I wouldn't buy it for the speakers by itself but as an alarm clock its perfect. It also has the ability to hook up to your TV to play videos from your iPod, which was a bonus for me. I recommend it as a great product value.
This is a fine basic clock radio with alarm settings. The iPod dock was a little difficult to snap into place, but once there it works fine. To change the alarm or time settings from, say, 7 am to 6 am you have to go through 23 hours; there are no back buttons. The sound quality is fine, volume control is good. There are no preset buttons on the radio so you have to tune in each different station you want to hear.
For the price, this is a great clock radio. I am buying another one for my 10 year old son. My son wanted it so he could play his ipod (mini) in his room and wake up to the ipod. He loves it. The sounds is just what I would expect from a clock radio. I looked a long time for one that does not have the bright blue backlight. Those are just too bright. This one is just perfect for the lighting. Not too bright. It is tricky trying to get the ipod to go off as the alarm. I am not sure if there is a certain sequence to set things or not, but sometimes it doesn't play the ipod in the morning. The alarm turns on, but the ipod doesn't always play. I'm not sure if my son sets it on pause or what? That doesn't matter much to us since I still wake him up, and when it does go off, it never wakes him up, so we will just use the buzzer when he really needs to get up. BTW, I love the buzzer sound. It starts quietly and then gets louder, but it is never ear piercing. It is a nice buzzer. Overall, we are happy with our purchase.
I figured for such a low price that the sound wouldn't be the greatest, but I was surprised at how bad the sound is with this product! But for the price, can I really complain? It's a great recharge dock and I can still listen to my iPod without those irritating pods when I want to
You really get what you pay for here. You're not paying for much though. I had to wedge something in behind my iPod in order to get all the pins to line up so everything would work. Also, the alarm is one tricky thing to set if you want music to wake up to. I still cannot figure out the correct sequence in order to have it actually go off and play music. The buzzer and radio alarms work great, but that is not why I bought this. Spend a little more money for something that works.
I was so excited to get this alarm clock in and try it out, and was so dissapointed when I set it up and realized that the speakers wouldn't work! I plugged in some headphones, just to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong, and sure enough, I heard the music through the earbuds. I'm ordering another one, in hopes that it won't be messed up, since I really still want the clock and it's such a good price.
