This product was easily assembled. It is a fairly large piece and I myself being a first time 7 month pregnant woman had a hard time moving it alone. Very sturdy when it's alone but on top of the dresser/changing table I would recommend the wall restraints as it doesn't attach to the bottom unit itself. There are 3 tiny screws on the elvated side that screw in but not enough to keep it in place. A couple different pieces had minor splits/cracks in them but nothing major and I will be keeping an eye on them to make sure they don't progress.
We had the combo unit when our daughter was born and loved it. We used it with a change pad on top for the first few months until she started rolling. Now we've added the hutch to the combo unit which adds so much space to her room. It has plenty of room for her books and trinkets. Just make sure you don't plan to use the combo unit as a change table once you add this piece on!
Love the color and look - very easy to put together. May took 30 min. top.
This hutch matches my the cognac dresser perfectly, but I don't like how it connects to the dresser. It is held on only by the back panel and doesn't seem very safe. We still have to put the anti-tip brackets onto the wall, but even then I'm still a little leary.
We bought this dresser with the hutch for out babies room. I put it together on my own and did not have any problems, however I am an experienced carpenter. I do think that most of the things that i did that were not explicitly in the instructions were common sense. Ex:When putting screws into the edge of pressboard be meticulous about making sure they go in at a 90degree angle. The instructions are very similar to ikea instructions without the cute confused cartoon guy.On the hutch there are no real wood pieces, the doors, drawer fronts, tops of the dresser are all real wood and the rest is press board with laminate on top. They did a good job of matching them, they are indistinguishable once all is assembled.
This product is a great concept. It works great to display all the little things when you dont have room for them else where. I really thought that the shelves would be deeper than they are, but I found use for smaller things.. The color is not what I thought it would be, we bought a walnut crib, and the dresser / hutch combo is lighter and redder than we thought, but it works fine because they are not right beside each other... I really like the looks of this item.. We have not really used this with a baby due to she is not here yet, but we are really looking forward to it when she does arrive...
I bought this product to attach to the combo dresser and it looks really sharp. I hope it works out well for us, I am concerned that the hutch only attaches to the dresser with two screws on the right side. If you push or bump the left side the hutch slides back and you could get pinched or even break it if there is enough force. I really hope it holds up to our little guy cause it looks awesome in the room and holds everything nicely.
this product turned out to be a wonderful product i can store all of my newborns things on it... the only thing i didnt like was it took me alittle long to put it together because the peices arent labled but the directions arent hard at all.... i would recommend this anyone as along as u have the paitence to put it together...its great and it looks so nice
Husband had a very hard time lining it up just right. He did it correctly and still would not work. Also, the wood is delicate and scratches easy. That said, I do love the look of it and am happy.
Got this for my nursery, easy to assemble but hard to attach securely to the dresser....only 2 screws on one side. My husband had to screw in from underneath the dresser into the sides of the hutch...thank goodness he's a carpenter and knew what he was doing or I could see people trying to screw into it and the wood spliting.
