Pretty easy to assemble - did it by myself. Dresser was exactly as advertised. Maybe a bit expensive, but it was just the size and color that I needed to go with other hand-me-down nursery furniture.
Great baby dresser..a little work to assemble.
These Grow With Me by Carters pieces of furniture in Honey Pine are the best things to happen to our nursery! I put together the crib first, followed by this dresser, and finally the changing table. All three pieces were very, very easy to assemble, and I put them together myself, with minimal help from my wife on the crib. The only teeniest, tiniest drawback to this dresser was that when I put in the drawers, the drawer stops slightly scratched the sides of the dresser. So a heads up to all you other dads out there: Keep the wife happy and be very careful setting the drawers in. As stated in my other two reviews for the Honey Pine sets, the color is slightly darker in person than it appears on the screen. No big deal for us, just a friendly observation. :) I've included a picture in this review, thinking about painting something on the drawers, what do you think? Can't wait to finish the nursery, but I'm really glad the furniture purchases are out of the way.
We just got this item. It was very easy to put together and it's obviously made very well. Solid wood pieces and sturdy. As others have mentioned, the actual color is slightly darker than the picture. I'm not sure what they took a picture of, but it wasn't this model. Either way, it's still very nice. The one big issue I have with this dresser is that it seems they skimped on the size of the drawers. There is a good three inches between the back of the drawer and the available space at the back of the unit. My wife and I were both a little surprised at how small the drawers were when compared with the rest of the dresser. Either way, we still like it and will keep it. Overall it seems like a good product.
I put this dresser for my Granddaughter together. Finished Dresser looks very nice, seems to be good quality. Price was very good. Instructions were clear but lacked some important details. When assembling the dresser frame: 1) don't tighten all the screws until the end, you need some 'give' to get all the panels in correctly. 2) Look at grooves in frame and outer panels and plan what fits where. I got several panels in upside down. Instructions didn't address top, bottom and grooves. 3) I needed my son to help fit the top of dresser in. . .it took strength and some hammering (padded to prevent marring panel) to get all panels correctly in the grooves. It does take 2 people at this point.
The 11/16" Long 5/16X18 Screw Insert on the left rear corner post, that the leg screws into, fell out because the hole was too large. It was obvious that the last two external threads had been fractured by the tool used to install the insert for the bottom rear support. It was repaired by fitting an oversize dowel, drilling the pilot hole and fitting the insert. For additional safety a 1/8th" steel pin was fitted at right angles to the insert to prevent the insert from pulling out. Other than problem above, extremely happy with the look and quality of the fit & finish. Size is more than sufficient for childs room & much nicer than other comparable products.
This product was easy to put together, took about 45 minutes, and is a very good value. The dresser looked nice once it was completed and matches the crib perfectly. We were worried to order online without seeing it, but took a chance. Produce came in when expected and is everything we wanted. Will be good for our baby boy to use as he grows up.
Already have the crib and the changer so I was just missing the dresser, the only bad thing is that my crib and changer are mahogany color and carters discontinued that color, so i had to buy honey and get it to a carpinter so he could make may dresser the same color so i spend more than i was supposed to.
it matches the bed beautifully..the color is a little bit darker than online(not by much) very very easy to put together(deff need 2 ppl) the drawers are very decent in size.
i received my dresser and like previous posts stated..it was alot darker than the picture......also..my top had a scratch in it , and the stain was worn off on the front side piece...maybe from shipping....i called carters and they replaced the top, and sent a whole new side, because they dont supply the stain. the side came in , and i was very disappointed. the whole top rail wasnt even stained..guessing its sprayed on, and they missed the top....needless to say, i put the old side back on and will try and touch it up myself..also, the one leg came with a crack in in it, which i am just gonna glue, so it wont come apart..... VERY TIME CONSUMING TO PUT TOGETHER, i finaly had a trick to put the screws in faster, and you have to make sure the rocker washer is in right , otherwise you have to take the screw all the way out , to reposition it. im done waiting , so i will use it as is.....but unhappy
