My husband put this together in about two hours or so. He said that it was fairly easy but not always intuitive. His first attempt to assemble a draw didn't go so great. I am calling this afternoon to get parts to fix this. It was also damaged anyway. A little shorter than I expected, although the measurements are on the website, I had pictured it a little taller. Overall it looks great and works well in the space that I needed it.
I loved the look of this online and the storage possibilities. That being said, shipping of this item was awful (I also ordered the 5 drawer dresser, a bed, and nightstand from the same collection). The box for this item came all bashed in- slit right down the middle- smashed styrofoam everywhere. Opened the box and at least 5 pieces were broken/damaged. Returned to the store (figured it would be easier that way than to wait for the manufacturer to send me replacements). Got a refund and ordered another one online. This time the box was in better shape, but still had a couple damaged pieces (nicks/scrapes- touched up with a furniture marker). Only 1 piece was damaged enough for me to contact the mfg to get a replacement. Took about 2 weeks to get replacement from mfg. Putting the back on this armoire was a pain. Some of my screws went through the particle board and chipped the surface of the wood. Luckily they are in a dark portion of the unit and aren't really visible unless you're really looking. The drawers were awful to get inserted into the unit. I put the 5 drawer dresser together before this, so I had experience with getting the drawers seated correctly. The drawer runs on this unit were bent. Had to have hubby straighten them with a hammer, then they worked much better. Still a step that I shouldn't have had to do. I love the look of the armoire, and it matches the rest of the furniture from this collection perfectly. I changed all the knobs to brushed silver and think it looks much better than the wood knobs. In closing, go ahead and buy this item- the end product is worth it, but be prepared for damage during shipment/needing to contact the manufacturer for replacement parts, and a fight on your hands trying to get the drawers seated correctly.
Aside from being a LOT more assembly than expected with many of the parts NOT labeled, the drawers at the bottom did not fit properly. The rails that the drawers fit on were pre-installed incorrectly and had to be manually adjusted to get the drawers to fit together. Fortunately I've had lots of experience with furniture assembly so was able to figure things out and we now have a usable cupboard. However, the fully assembled product is not the sturdiest. If this product were for my home rather than the breakroom at work, I would have returned it.
packing and delivery not satisfaction, broken star form powder all over my place and pieces are scratch and broken. no assembly manual inside. I figure out myself how to assemble, and what should I say.
