Product was delivered ahead of schedule and packed very well. Just a phillips screwdriver needed and the rest was included. Very easy to assemble. It took about 30-45 minutes total. The material is solid and sturdy.
My mother purchased our crib, Delta brand. I wanted to match the color so I found this dresser, also Delta brand and picked the same color, Espresso, as the crib. The colors don't match. The dresser is a pretty color, but it's lighter than the crib. You would assume they'd match being manufactured by the same company and labeled the same color. The drawers don't open as easily as I'd like them to, but overall, it is a nice dresser.
I really liked this product, but when I put it together and compared the color to the color of the crib and changing table it does not match. The dresser is cherry and everything else is espresso. The dressor is marked espresso, but it is definitely a cherry color. I am still pleased with the overall purchase. Just wished it all matched. As far as the structure, it is well built.
Okay, so I did not heed the reviews I read about the color of this dresser not matching the Delta Newport crib. I am not a really picky person and thought that if it were close in color, it would be fine, so we ordered it. I was really disappointed when my husband took the first piece out of the box - even he agreed that the colors are VERY different and would be too noticeable even if we put the crib and dresser across the room from each other. So, we are bringing it back. For those of you trying to make a decision, the dresser itself is very nice and pretty good quality (which is why I gave it three stars). If the color was within a shade of the crib, it would be a keeper. If your crib is a true cherry color, this dresser would probably work well for you.
Bought this with a Delta crib. The back of the dresser the wood is pressed wood and both pieces were not the same color as the rest of the dresser and were really beat up. ( we had read other reviews saying the same thing but we decided to keep it because it was on the back ) My fiance spent 4 hours putting this together it was a pain in the butt to assemble, but the end result looks really good and it matches the crib. We had a problem with one of the drawers catching, finally figured out that one of the pieces of wood was a little longer than the others. So my fiance sanded it down and it worked perfectly fine, although it took him 30-40 minutes to figure out that was the problem. Overall it looks really nice, we also had problems with a broken piece that came with the crib but the company is very helpful and sent us a new one no questions asked. I think really it had to do with packing and shipping. The crib didn't take nearly as long as the dresser to put together. The company is a great company and very helpful and once put together the products looks amazing.
I really liked the look of the dresser online, kind of cheaply made but the price was right. However, the color of the dresser was supposed to be espresso and it's definitely Cherry. There was no mistake with shipping, we did receive the "espresso" dresser. It was just dissapointing because I ordered a crib BY DELTA in Espresso and the color was very different from the dresser.
We bought the Newport set with the crib, dresser, and mattress. Ordered it Site to Store and it arrived within a week. I had read the reviews regarding the color/stain issues between the crib and dresser but had hoped the company had fixed the issue. I was wrong. We opened the dresser first and everything looked like it was in good condition and the color was beautiful. We then opened the crib just to see if the stain matched and it didn't! The crib is definitely a dark espresso color and the dresser is cherry. Both dark woods but if you are going to buy a "set" you would think they would have the same stain. Returned this and picked up a matching set from Target...
Sturdy enough dresser but it is cherry not espresso. The red hues are really bright and it stands out next to the espresso glider and shelf I got for the nursery. Even the crib is a darker shade of wood. Other than that it does what it's supposed to.
I bought the dresser and the crib as a set. I should have read the reviews better because everyone said the color of the dresser and the crib do not match. And they were right! The crib is a dark expresso and the dresser is a cherry finish. The drawers only open up 5-6 inches. The dresser was sent with several pieces where the wood was actually split, glued back together, and then stained over top to try to cover it up. Luckily these areas were on the inside so its not noticable. If this dresser wasn't such a pain in the butt to put together (and take apart), I would have sent it back in a heart beat. These issues need to be addressed!!!
I ordered the full set that included the crib, changing table, and dresser. Overall the quality of the furniture seems fine. However, once the dresser was fullly assemble, the drawers would not open and close properly. They are very hard to tug on and a dresser should not be like that. Not really sure what we will do at this point with the dresser, but the rest of the furniture seems to be fine.
