Love the fresh, modern design of the Babymod Olivia dresser (and crib) at reasonable prices. They are much more affordable pieces than most modern baby furniture. Like I had read on reviews for the other olivia dresser with the amber base, the dresser has something like pressboard drawer bottoms and a similar back. I don't love this, as they could be better quality but overall it's the quality of the drawer sides my husband has greatest concern about holding up over time. I am thrilled they came out with espresso colored bases as I think it is more modern and definately works in our son's room better than the amber would have. Even though I measured before ordering it does look larger l than I had imagined. I wish it was a tad bit smaller overall. As far as assembly, it took my husband a good hour or so to put together. It was a lot of detailed work, but doable. One previous reviewer's best advice was this; "Notations on instructions- when screwing in the drawer guides the instructions have you screw into the wrong hole (I believe this is step #10) you can tell that the top of the screw will actually fall out if placed in the indicated hole- use the ones that are smaller (a little further back) *it will be logical* and you won't have a problem". Having said all of that, it is THE BEST option I found for good modern design and affordability and it looks awesome in the nursery with the matching crib and our other decor. Thank you Babymod!
This dresser was a little pricier than I would have expected but it definitely looks very nice and I'm very happy with it. You really cannot find this kind of style for any less money anywhere else....I looked everywhere before deciding on this one! The bottoms of the drawers are supported by a middle support beam which makes me much better about how well they'll hold up to weight over time. It does rock a bit back and forth with pressure so I'm going to have my husband try to add some additional supports. The directions aren't that great but I read through all of the other reviews for some tips on putting it together and that was definitely helpful. I would definitely order this dresser again.
This dresser was well protected during shipping. The instructions are wrong and very confusing in a few places which was very frustrating for me. The wood is very soft, so be very gentle when tightening the screws. The dresser was much bigger than I thought it would be, but overall was a very good purchase for my unborn son's nursery.
