Start with clean, dry hair. Section hair into equal amounts. Heat comb according to hair type (1-3 minutes) in ceramic heating oven or on stove top (low heat for fine hair, moderate for coarse or thick). Do not heat using an open (gas) flame. Comb is too hot if paper towel turns brown when held again comb. Let cool slightly before using. Hold sectioned hair away from the scalp and comb hair outward. Hold hair tightly against the back of the comb. Continue around head until all hair has been straightened. When finished, use a fine-tooth comb to smooth hair into desired style.
