I love Rubbermaid products and since I have been trying to use glass lately, it is great that Rubbermaid has come out with this nice set. While I have nothing against plastic, it can just be so fragile as far as the shape disfiguring or it staining (how many times do I have to tell my husband a dish with red sauce cannot go into a plastic container!) This set comes with four bowls with lids and they are the perfect sizes for everyday use. the other nice part is that they look nice enough that you can even use this containers to put out for a party, normally I would transfer our salsa or dips but with this nice containers I feel they would look great out on display! The lids are heavy duty with gaskets built in to really seal the lid tight and while they do attach to the bottom of the bowls I found it was easier to attach the lids to each other and use them that way. When I put the lids on the bottom for storage, I found they fell off a little to easily but attaching them together creates a tight hold and easy to grab. I also love that the lids are red, which makes them easy to find in my crazy messy cabinet! The glass is also a very thick heavy duty glass, but don't worry its not ridicously heavy or anything. I have been using this dishes for our leftovers or small dishes and they heat up and clean great. I would definitely recommend the Rubbermaid Glass with Easy Find Lids!
These glass containers are great no food leaching like you get from plastic containers where you get that last food in it taste and smell from plastic. They seal well and look good. I like that the lids can be used on any size glass container. only knock is that you can't buy replacement lids.
I prefer glass over other containers for storage, and serving food. these Rubbermaid bowls are excellent for microwaves, and serving food to friends and family. They look classy and if there is any food left over you just pop on the lid and put it away. Highly recommended by me.
I love the fact of using glass food containers instead of plastic. After years of using rubber and plastic food containers, I have been slowly switching over to glass. I know that the lids are plastic/rubber, that is the only way to seal them tightly. We do cook and prepare large amounts of food at times so these bigger and somewhat rounder sizes are perfect.
This product redefines multi-tasking. I was able to retire my old plastic bowls and make a lot more room in my cabinets. The lids truly seal, The glass, being what it is, doesn't stain and work great in the oven, microwave, fridge and table.. You can label the bowls with felt tip pens and remove with a damp cloth or paper towel. They are very stable stacked in the storage area. This product is a true value.
I am so happy with these glass containers. I am very concerned with materials leaching into food. Nothing is better for avoiding that then glass. They seal well and look good on the table. Also, I will not microwave in plastic. They go from refrigerator to microwave to table. I also love the easy find lids. No more covers falling all over the place.
Hands down my favorite part about this product is that the glass dishes are attractive enough to use as serving dishes. So often I dirty a serving dish and a storage dish; I love that this can be both in one! I do love that the lids snap together so they wont get stranded in our cupboards, but they weren't as intuitive to me as I imagined. I had to look at the pictures to see how they snap together, but now I am a pro. Overall, I'm psyched to be using glass, which doesn't stain and holds up so much better than plastic.
Since the day I bought the glass container and removed the gasket for cleaning as specified right on the gasket, I have not been able to get it back on. It's been very frustrating. I've used it without the gasket but I'm not sure if I'm getting a proper seal on it now. Rubbermaid people should post a video as to how to get those things back on.
It's a very attractive product and I like storing and reheating in glass instead of plastic. Worked well until I removed gasket for cleaning. Have never been able to reinstall the gasket, despite following recommended instructions. If I still had the receipt it would have gone back to the store.
The lid does not seal tight!!!!
