this is great specially if you got a new baby and totllers. I put my new born to sleep in his crib turn on the monitorclose the door so my twins dont get in and see and hear my baby if he wake-up. With out my totllers waking up baby plus the features it has is great for soothing baby.
I love this monitor. I love the soother. My daughter is now a year old and i use that soother more now than i did ever. I can turn the music on and off by the handheld monitor. The only thing is if the electricity goes out you have to turn it off for 5 minutes and then let it reset its self. But i have another one coming in March and i am buying another one for her. You cannot go wrong with this monitor.
I am a first time mommy as of Nov. 2009. I had installed this monitor in the crib prior to my baby's arrival. I purchased this one based on the other reviews I had read. This monitor has given me a very long leash to let my little one have some independence and it gave me a BIG piece of mind. This monitor is what kept the baby in her crib and out of mine and daddy's bed. Interference has not been an issue either. Even if you already have kids it would be worth the extra money to buy this video monitor just to keep an eye on what's going on. It's great!
This is a great monitor especially if the parents are downstairs & the baby's room is upstairs. When the baby starts to cry or wake during the night, you can clearly see (black & white monitor) baby and hear him. You can remotely press a vibrating or song feature without having to trek upstairs to soothe him. There is a light display for sound. We have notice some occasional interference with our wireless computer stuff but no static on the monitor. I love this monitor. Little pricey but seems to be worth it. We tried another video monitor but the there was so much static we could not just it. FYI: We have wireless internet & portable phones in the home.
I just had my first baby and needed a monitor. Not knowing what I was getting as far as monitors go, I bought this one. It was the best thing I ever did. I can see my baby in his room sleeping at night and if he starts to wake up and fuss some - I can play the music or vibrate him back to sleep without ever getting up to disturb him or myself. I have to say I really believe this is why my child has been sleeping threw the night and in his own room since he was 1 month old. If I had to recommend one thing that is a must have for new moms or even moms that are having trouble getting their child to sleep in their own beds and threw the night it would be this. Spend the extra money --- it will make your life better in the end.
If I had this when my son was born rather than waiting 5 months it would have drastically reduced the number of times I checked on him and woke him in the process. The picture is great. The fact that it is rechargable is great. The remote features work fine but the vibration and sounds don't soothe my son.
I bought this monitor after returning another Summer's Infant monitor which had lots of static in my house. I was skeptical at first, but I tried it and it works well. I occasionally still get static but I have realized that my house has a lot of interference due to many cordless phones so I may not find the "perfect" monitor. I love how clear the sound comes in and the picture is good too. However, when the description said color I thought the picture would come in color during the day and turn to black and white during night mode, but it is always black and white. The important part is I can see my baby.
The sound and picture during the day are good but at night I can barely even tell if my son is in his crib. The whole point of me buying a video monitor was so that I wouldn't have to keep going into my son's room at night to check on him. Also, the crib soother stopped working after one day. I am returning this product.
I purchased online from Canada and when I got it home over the border the two video monitors would not consistently sync together and there was SOOOOO much squealing when in the same room or one room away it was ridiculous! I recently just purchased the summer infant monitor in Canada with the smaller hand held device (size of a blackberry) and no sound soother function. This one works awesome and is clear and much smaller to lug around the house.
