I bought this seat for my Huffy "Rock Creek" mountain bike that I use for my commute to work everyday. I have to say that it is the most comfortable seat I have ever sat on, especially when the ride is an hour long and through a seven mile stretch. It includes two shock absorbers under the seat for additional cushion on bumpy roads and the airgel provides softness to the pressure points.
I purchased this seat in June of 08 for riding my bike to work as the seat on my bike I purchased the same day was very uncomfortable. where I used to live, it was a 5 1/2 mile commute each way. This seat is a great choice and have had no problems with it. To this day the gel pads are still very comfy.
I have an arthritic hip and tried the bell no pressure seat but felt insecure and weird. I've gone for 3 hour rides with the air-gel along w/ a good pair of padded bike shorts with comfort even though I'm overweight, 5'10", 215lbs. No signs of gel pads peeling yet so with care, it looks good for at least 2 seasons.
This seat is comfortable and easy to install, it would be great for a mountain or touring bike.
the seat is very comfortable for the money
ok i bought this seat about 1 year ago and like some people said the gel will come off in time but i bought this seat for a road bike i found out that it is no good for a road bike it will hurt you so i put it on my mountain bike and can not be happier so if you got a mountain bike go get one if you got a road bike STAY AWAY from this seat you will be sorry i do plan on getting another one in a few weeks due to mines is old and worn out
I like the seat. it's very comfortable. but the jel pads are cracking in the extreme heat. I think the seat will be fine even if the jel pads come off the seat.
I purchased this seat, and I think it is okay, but.... On your bottom, for a while it's fair. but I still would recommend the padded gel bicycle short. That is, in my opinion the only thing that is going to give you total comfort. Riding a bike for 2 to 4 hours is still bad on your back, especially if you don't have the proper clothing on. The "Bell Seat" is okay, but again, I am going to purchase gelled bicycle padded shorts for myself and my husband, we both have a complaint that there are those "special areas" that the seat does not comfort.
I purchased this seat less than 1 month ago. The "gel" cushion has started to seperate from the seat. Unfortunately, I do not have the receipt, so I do not know if I can return it. I have other Bell products that are excellent, but not this seat.
the gel parts have separated from the seat and now are sticky so i can't ride my bike until i get a new seat or a seat cover , i also wasnt all that impressed with the position of the gel. im not thrilled that im out the $20 and have to spend probably at least that much more on what will hopefully be a good seat. i bought this earlier this summer.
