I have purchased these hash browns in the past but on my recent purchase both bags of the hash browns were cut so large that when I used them in my cowboy potatoes they turned into mash potatoes.
The shred size has changed to a larger cut, not a fan of this. Makes it harder to get them crisp. I noticed this the last bag I bought and thought it was a production mistake, but after buying another bag with it shredded the same, I realized they have changed the product. I'm going to have to change brands, too bad since I've bought these for years.
I made a hash brown and stared to eat it when I bit into something hard. I spit it out and I saw the piece of sharp plastic. I looked in the bag and found 2 more pieces. It was hard sharp pieces of plastic inside the bag. It was a brand new bag and didn't look like it had been tampered with. When I was cooking it, there was a bit of ice since it was frozen so I didn't initially notice it otherwise I could have avoided biting on it. It chipped the filling on my molar.
There are tiny little holes in the bags on the back. Completely ruined my Easter morning breakfast plans.
I orders shredded hash browns. The package said shredded hash browns but it definitely WAS NOT.
I had 2 bags of GV Shredded hashbrowns in my freezer for a year. I decided to try them, and was totally impressed at how nicely they browned up so I ordered two more bags. What a disappointment. What used to be nicely shredded are now almost as big as McDonald's fries and no matter how long you cook them they will not brown. these are supposed to be shredded hashbrowns not chopped up french fries…… Very disappointed, don't know why they did this. Will not be buying again.
it must have been thawed at one point and re frozen came as a big frozen blob. unable to separate the shredded potatoes
