I am allergic/hyper-sensative to sodium lauryl sulfate. Regular toothpaste always burned my mouth but most of my life, I thought this must be normal. Then, in my late 40's, all the skin in my mouth began to slough off everyday after I brushed my teeth. My dentist told me to try Biotene or something without SLS. Biotene was the only thing I could find that didn't have it. I have been very happy with Biotene for years now and recommend it to others who have mouth sensitivity. In spite of not having all the "extras" of other toothpaste, it still leaves my mouth feeling fresh and clean. Their mouth rinse and moisturizing spray are great, too!
I have dry mouth from Sjogren's syndrome so this also stops me from getting cavities. Who would have ever thought that a dry mouth causes cavities? I wish I would have known that sooner. Well, now I do not get cavities because of this product. A dry mouth causes cavities.
Are you, like me, tired of mouth snot after brushing and recurring debilitating canker sores that make chewing and speaking difficult? It is probably the SLS in your toothpaste. Most toothpaste has this surfactant foaming agent in it, and the NIH has published papers going back into the 1990s telling science how bad this stuff is for our oral mucosal linings. This biotene toothpaste does not have SLS and my latest oral cleaning was proof positive that SLS was keeping my gums from really ever healing! Documented! Try this toothpaste and see if SLS is a problem for you, too!
This toothpaste is amazing,I been struggling with dry mouth and my gums were inflamed and my teeth were hurting and my lips kept on cracking to top it off I got braces so I was literally going through a lot but when I found this toothpaste it saved my life I use to use the mouthwash but never new they had a toothpaste, also used it on my 7 yro and his little breath smells great all the time now
I really do love brushing with Biotene as it is just as good or better than dry mouth toothpaste from my dentist and much cheaper. I have bad dry mouth from my meds I take and the stronger mint toothpaste was too strong and burned my mouth. This toothpaste is much milder with a soft mint flavor. It helps keep my teeth clean so my dentist is happy with my teeth condition. A ==
This is the best toothpaste I have used. The taste is not too bad and it doesnt have a strong smell. I love using this toothpaste.
I have PoTs and experience flares that come along with intense dry mouth. I started using this toothpaste and the Biotene mouthwash and it has made such a big difference. I can take my pills in the morning more comfortably. It is great for brushing my teeth and makes a lot of bubbles so I feel like I am doing a good job. Dry mouth can also increase chances of cavities, so the fluoride is definitely needed to keep my teeth healthy.
Purchased this cause I had a few teeth broke and they couldn't repair them right away. I bought this and they sort of helped. Keep some of the pain away while I was waiting for the dental appointment made my teeth feel very good and comfortable.
I have a bad case of dry mouth, due to medications I need to be on. When I saw the TV ad for this stuff, I raced to my computer to order it! I was very happy that Walmart carries it. I ordered the mouthwash the first time, and am pleased to say, it works very well! I only need to use it 2-3 times a day to keep that horrible 'I-can't-talk-because-my-mouth-is-stuffed-with-cotton-balls' feeliing away. So, I then ordered the toothpaste, thinking it might work even better than the mouthwash. The first two times I used it, it didn't do a thing. But I guess the effects are cumulative, because with continued use, it does help some.
My Dentist recommended this Biotene becaause of my dry mouth problem. I like it mostly because it makes the tooth paste to foam up in your mouth when I brush my teeth. It gets to more places in my mouth and helps keep them from being so dry for a little while. On my last check up, I had 5 sma;ll cavities on the inside at the gum line. Dry mouth can cause cavities!!! I will know more when I go back for my next check-up. The mouth wash I didn't like because after you rince your mouth with it, you are not to rinse your mouth after you use the rince. It didn't taste very good either.
