I'm a health food fan in her 50's who tries to enjoy food but at the same time watch my calories. I purchased the Sam's Club Black Bean Chipotle larger ones first, which are extremely tasty, and even got my husband hooked on those. These from Walmart are good also, a little smaller, less calories, so they make a great lunch sandwich with bread or are good without bread too. They give you lots of fiber and taste great! I have tried lots of the Morning Star products, and they are all good so far. Try the breakfast sausage, you won't believe they aren't real sausage.
I'm not a vegetarian or vegan so I don't know your point of view. But I have to say this is one of the spiciest black bean burger I've had. I do like it very much. It have a good flavor. The original one doesn't have much flavor. I like Morningstar brand I also tried GV brands and seem to be ok , I normally cook 2 for one burger since they are so thin. I eat it like a regular hamburger lettuce, tomato, onion and cheese and depending how I feel on what dressings I use but it's all good to me. I will keep continuing to buy this just wish it was a tad thicker .
I'm not a vegetarian but I eat these often because I love the flavor. They're a great low calorie high protein lunch. I pair them with sandwich thins for some whole grains and a little more substance than white buns.
it has been a while since I have had these and I had a craving for these. I do like them on a hamburger bun with vegan cheese I also like to make these into a lettuce wrap with vegan shredded cheese, diced tomato and green onion and dip them in a vegan Mayo mixed with ketchup sometimes I add a little tiny bit of either diced jalapeno or sweet relish 👍🥰
Very economical when buying the 8 pack. I also like that they are not made mainly with soy protein, but beans, rice, onion, and corn instead. Easy to fix. I heat them in my toaster oven for 21 minutes and top with ketchup, sliced tomato (and sometimes Avocado). I usually run across a hard piece, or 2 of rice while eating it, that I spit out. Don't like that part. But at $1 a burger, it can't be beat.
Overall these are good, but they are not spicy. No spice detected at all if thats what you are looking for. Think British spicy when you think of these.
My doctor told me i have to drastically reduce my cholesterol so i read these veggie products have little to no cholesterol. I was a bit weary, read reviews. People complaining "bUt It hAs EgGs". Eggs arent technically meat so shove it. Anyways I bought some, air fried them, made my buns the way i liked, got the cooked patties out of the fryer, they were a bit crumbly and easy to tear....but my god they were tasty. Not as good as a heart clogging burger, but darn good. So if you want a tasty alternative to a heart attack, buy and try. In the end no review is going to tell you how it tastes. So buy and try!!
Normally good, but what's been up with quality control in so many food brands lately? I was almost at the end of my burger and had trouble chewing, so I spit out my bite. It looks like I was chewing on some sort of waxy paper? And this isn't user error. There was no paper in the plastic bag holding these patties.
I purchased these burgers at my elderly mother's request. I am the daughter. It was the first time she tried them. She uses my email. This is her review: These black bean burgers should NOT be called “black bean!” They should be called “rice burgers” with a few beans in them. These burgers are extremely MUSHY in my plate after pan frying. The taste was just “Okay” it could definitely use some improvement there too. In addition, the protein per serving is WAY too low at only 9G! While you're improving the quality, add more soy or egg proteins please. I won't buy them again. Thank you for reading.
Maybe I slept through that part in school where the said Egg was a vegetable. I ate these, then happened to catch it on the back. Egg Whites? Think it's pretty misleading calling it “Veggie Burger.” Veggie and Egg White Burger? You could have used ground flax seed as a binder. It's an exact match as a binding agent, that doesn't change the taste or texture. IMO price doesn't fluctuate, so your food cost would be easier to project since it doesn't rise and fall. You got lazy and phoned this one in.
