I am very happy with my gate. I am using it across the opening to my kitchen. Because it is so long it has a foot in the middle which makes it more sturdy than other gates I have tried. The latch is a bit tricky, however I like that because I have Houdini children. The gate came with every bit of hardware I needed, where with others I have had to find or buy additional things I needed. This was the cheapest place I found the gate as well, even with shipping. I would certainly buy this again.
I purchased one of these 2 years ago and it has held up well. I actually use it for my dogs and have never used the hardware,just 2 confine them when we r gone. It is nice that you can slide it open and expand it shut. I just purchased another for my nephew. They have a toddler and he is very busy. They have a extra wide doorway so this will be great. The best thing about the gate is it is easy and convienent.
really good gate, easy to install and use. well constructed and suprised it was made in america, it is also fairly prices. It keeps the dog where he is suppose to be but am sure it would work good for kids too. I haven't noticed any features that would be harmful to kids, primarily fingers.
I am very pleased with this gate. It keeps our 1 year old grandson out of the kitchen. And when he isn't here, it does an excellent job of keeping the 4 cats out of the living room by swinging the gate the opposite way.
I had been searching for several days for a gate that would retract out of the way when not in use and that was large enough for our opening between the living room and kitchen. This was the only gate that I could find that would do both of those things. It was very easy to install. We are using the gate for double duty in keeping our 1 year old son out of the kitchen and our dog in the kitchen. We've had the gate up for a couple of weeks now and it is serving its purpose very well. The only complaint I have is the latch part is a little tough to work but I assume that's to make it child proof- really not a big deal though. I definitely recommend this gate.
I am using this product to keep a bulldog from accessing the living room and bedrooms while we are out. Love the way it swivels out and it can be hidden while we are home. This is the only product I saw that would accommodate my 96" opening. Works wonderfully and a great price.
Very happy to be able to find a safety gate wide enough for our opening from kitchen to great room! This keeps us from worrying about our precious one year old grandson getting beyond areas that are not baby-proofed. Finding a gate at this width for this price was almost impossible. Then I got on Walmart.com. Thank you very much!!!!
We installed this gate to help corral our 2 rambunctious Labs. It is sturdier than I expected! Hard to explain, but the gate swivels to cover a 36" doorway or swivels around to cover a 96" expanse but when not in use it swivels into a THIRD position to lay flat against the wall. It works great, I wish we would have bought it 2 years ago for this part of the house, when the pups were 8 weeks old! We have since purchased and installed a second identical gate for another part of the house, being able to swivel it and expand it to 2 or 3 different areas is exactly what we were looking for. I hate the latch (hence the less than perfect rating), but I am getting accustomed to it. Don't have babies in the house anymore, so I cant speak to that, but it is identical to the kind I DID have 35 - 40 years ago.
I put this 108" expansion gate up to keep our 3 sheltie dogs out of our dining room as they have had a propensity to urinate in that room. The gate works great and is easy to expand. The gate retracts into a nice compact size and can be turned flat against the wall to leave full access to our dining room when needed. Our dogs are not big (around 30 lbs each) and this gate works perfectly for them and they don't even attempt to cross over or through it but not sure how it would work with a very big dog (over 80 lbs) who had it's mind set that it was going to get through the gate. The gate is made of mostly wood and a full charge into it by a big dog would eventually break it but then again just having the boundary might be sufficient in keeping most dogs out no matter what size. Anyway I love our gate and definitely give it a thumbs up!
This gate was okay. I didn't know there was a floor install unit which keeps the gate balanced. The only problem is we can't drill into our floors. Great price though.
