This is the only gate I found for a 66" doorway and it works great. We have a rather open floor plan and this gate enabled us to create a large play area for our young grandchildren.
I bought this product for my 11 month old and two shih tzus. I wanted to keep them on half of my deck. It was easy to set up but it is flemsy...my baby can't stand up without it wobbling, although it hasn't broken. The 7 lb shih tzu is retained well, but I have a 5 lb shih tzu that could go right under neath the gate (it is a little high from the bottom). It was easily fixed by attaching two swimming noodles to the bottom, blocking the hole. For the money spent, it is worth the time to deal with!
This was perfect for our open type kitchen. I hoped that they still made this type of gate as I had not seen it since the 70's. Worked like a charm to keep the new dog in the kitchen area. Wish I had it when I was doing the puppy thing many years ago. We plan to move it soon to use it for the entry way on the front porch to keep dog on porch on the beautiful days. Folds nicely and neat away when not in use. Sturdy hardware. Easy to install. High enough for Black lab to stay put. Sturdy construction although looks flimsy.
This gate was purchased to help keep our two yorkies, pomeranian, and shih tzu dogs out of my mother's living area. It is great, does exactly as advertised!
Bought to put in a 72" wide window because of the window being unsafe and my toddler loving to get up there and bang around. Mounted it no problem and plan to buy a second for downstairs! Wood holds up even to my daughter trying to hang off it.
Sturdy gate, as long as you make sure you attach it to a stud. We got it to keep the baby out of the kitchen. Added bonus: it keeps the dogs out of the living room! It stands up to the baby pulling up on it and shaking it, no problems. Can't beat it for the price. Very happy with this purchase. Not the prettiest gate around, but don't plan on using it forever. My 7 and 9 year olds can open it without a problem but my 4 year old needs help. Sometimes it's nice to keep her out of the kitchen too though. Good wood and sturdy hardware. We like it.
This gate is perfect for what we needed. We have 2 labs who keep trying to get into the living room and have been using a fold up wire playyard that weighs a ton and has to be moved everytime we need access. So far this gate is doing the job. The only threat I can think of is they will eventually try to chew it (as they do everything and anything they can get into). The area we needed to gate was over 5' and this is perfect.
This is a great gate for blocking dogs. The handle is tough to get open to disconnect. I wouldn't recommend to keep kids out of a room, my daughter would destroy this thing if she really wanted to get in the dog area. If you have a big dog that jumps it isn't right for you either. But it works fine to stop my dogs from running in the house after being outside.
the gate stretches across the archway that divides our living room in half. now that we have a baby it's nice to keep our dogs on the other side. the top latch is a bit tricky to do sometimes, but it was probably designed that way so the baby can't figure it out. i love that when the gate is compacted, it swings either direction so it's out of the way. overall, a good value for the price.
Bought two of these gates for my living room. My house has very wide doorways (5ft and 7ft). These were the best value I could find for such wide openings and they fit very well. A bit of a pain to install and not the easiest to open, but they keep my 1 year old in and our two dogs out.
