It does have a kind of short stride, but crank up the resistance and it will kick your butt! I have been using it two weeks straight so far and no squeaking yet. It's quiet and easy to switch from bike to elliptical. I'm so glad I went with this one versus the newer ($200 more) model.
The setup was fairly easy. We got the machine together and tried to activate it, and at first thought we needed a monthly membership. I called the activation hotline and listened to an automated system. You can bypass the "bonus features" by holding in the bluetooth button for up to 30 seconds until you see the light beneath the button come on. You're screen will then appear with all the workout info showing and you can use it as a regular workout machine. I got my first workout in finally knowing my progress. The machine works great. I hope this helps others, and now you know you don't have to pay a monthly fee unless you really want to have "bonus features ". I'm fine with the way it is.
I do an extreme amout of hiking with my canine friends. Had two replacement knees done and needed to make sure they stay in shape. So nice not having to go to the gym. I do these workouts when I want to do them, I have had this for three weeks and already have racked up over 200 miles (according to the console how accurate I do not know) and I feel great. Did I mention I was 66 years old?
I LOVE THIS THING!!!! I used to have an exercise bike, but I didn't feel as if I was getting anywhere with it. This is the best exercise unit I have ever purchased. PROS: You are able to work up to your needed level. The display keeps track of your time, mph, calories burned, rpm. The bluetooth is a plus (I never use it as I prefer to tune in to various music videos on youtube). I exercise 3x a week, and have lost 5 lbs in 2 weeks. It took me 5 times to work up to the full 30 minute workout. I am DEFINITELY seeing results, and feel MUCH better and stronger. CONS: Have someone around to help you unload and assemble (even if you have it delivered to your house, it is HEAVY! Take it from a farm girl that slings 50 lb feed sacks- this thing is about 150 lbs!). It took me 5 hours to assemble. The worst part? The bike seat. However, it was worth it. I should have purchased this last summer, when I was thinking about it. I would have lost 40 lbs by now!

Great bike. A little noisy. We purchased the assembly service. He put it together in 1.5 hours. Side note: Dont be fooled by the directions that you have to purchase the membership register the bike to inlock it. Just hold down the bluetooth button for ten seconds (youll see the green light), the bike will zero out after flashing HELLO. Then, you are ready to go. Purchase four D batteries before it is delivered, so you are ready to rock and roll once it is delivered and assembled.
Everything works, but a few parts needed for the handle bars were not in the box. So whenever I use this as an elliptical the bars slide in a little. Also this took about an hour or so for me to put together by myself. You have to be very strong assemble this. It was a fight to get some of the screws in.
The unit works great. I don't like exercising but this unit is comfortable and you can push through the workouts. I wish the unit came with an AC adaptor. You can buy one for it or use 4 D batteries. It is much larger than I expected, so you may want to assemble it where you plan on using it. After taking 2 people 3 hours to assemble it we couldn't get it to fit through the hallway turn into the bedroom until we removed the handles. It seems to be heavy duty weighing around 130 pounds. When we received the unit, the box was in bad shape with many staples pulled out and a few holes poked through the box. and one tie strap missing. However, the unit was packaged very securely in the box with Styrofoam and plastic wrap.
Great combination! I've had a treadmill for years, but it only worked certain parts of the body. This machine works everything. It was so easy to assemble, my husband put it together by himself. I get on in the mornings, it energizes me. It's stable, good price, I don't have to leave home to get a good workout. And it does'nt take up as much space as the treadmill! Thanks, Proform!
I noticed that the rear crank arms (Part # 24) were rusty during assembly, I put generous amount of provided grease and completed the assembly. The issue is that there is a squeaking noise that appears to come from the right crank arm after I have been on the machine about 0.5 mile and the noise will continue and becomes so annoying that I have to stop. Another issue is when I go in reverse direction, the flywheel makes clicking noise as if there is a bad clutch. This was communicated to Proform service department . I am waiting for response and advice. Will not recommend this to anyone until I get a satisfactory resolution
