I needed a nice, bright white paint to freshen up a ceiling in a house we recently purchased. I selected Arctic White and it really did the trick. It went on smooth and even and I found it to be very low odor. The paint was also priced well below the big home centers.
Used Behr for my previous project 2 weeks before. Bought this because wal-mart is a lot closer to me than the DIY store. This stuff greatly outperforms the other stuff at a couple less dollars a gallon. Goes on easier. and covers better. My only complaint is that I have a whole gallon of a custom color (pink for a little girl's room) that I bought expecting the need for a second coat that I don't need.
I have used another quality DIY store paint exclusively for many years and have always loved it. I've only been dissapointed in the fact that it's expensive in this economy, too far from my home to get some quickly, and lately I can't seem to ever find just the right color. This is my first try with Better Homes and Gardens paint. The light/medium gray I chose covered a much darker shade of brown. It covered it in one coat, cost less, my brush cleaned up so much easier than any paint I've ever used, the paint was neither too thick nor too thin, and the color was a crisp, clear gray...no lavender, or blue, or brown, or green casts...just a beautiful, clear shade of medium/light gray! I will definitely be purchasing more of it!
Since we were using the BH&G paints for other walls we decided to use this one for our trim that was just installed. The color and coverage is really good (just like the other two we've used). Very happy with the results. My wife can't wait for our next painting project.
I recently had to repaint the ceiling in our basement and after a lot of shopping around decided to purchase the Better Homes and Gardens paint at Walmart. Great quality for the value. Applied easily and didn't drip on me like other annoying ceiling paints do.
I am a painting and cleaning contractor. I like that I can grab this stuff at 4:30am if I need to. Today I needed to paint the two bedrooms, the hall and living room in a rental unit and be done before 8:30am. I grabbed 4 gallons of this in white and the coverage is pretty good. No problems whatsoever for me, but I also paint for 300+ hours a year, every year for the past 6, so I'm experienced. Very low odor. Not many rental units will be done in 15 year paint. Not the ideal choice for an owner to choose for long term, but that's not what this is for...
I thought I would save a few bucks and buy my paint at walmart. I love walmart, but not for paint. BH&G seemed like a good deal till I tried putting it on the wall. It was super thin. So far I have 2 coats on the wall and it looks like it will need a 3rd coat. I had trouble with using a brush to do the edges; no matter how many coats I put on (I even went out and bought a high quality brush) the paint still looked streaky and thin. The roller painted parts do not look as bad but like I said I am still considering my 3rd coat, because the coverage is lousy and the paint is like water thin. Also it says it dries to the touch in a 1/2 hour and re-coat in an hour. Well I had to wait till the next day for it to be completely dry before attempting a 2nd coat. I just finished the 2nd coat at 3:30pm it is now 8:30pm and it still looks very wet. WEIRD! Next time I am sticking with Lowes or home depot for my paints, you pay a lot more but the quality is worth it.
I purchased two gallons of Red.. paint.. first coat didnt cover that well.. starting doing a 2nd coat.. and it made no difference.. total waste of time.. now my walls look like dirty walls red with dirty streaks.. though them.. This is my first home.. and I am sick.. and at a lost as what to do..I would not recommend this paint to no one.. waste of money time and ruined walls now.. I have a Red Hot Mess in my bedroom now.After primer and two coats.. old color still shows though
Today I purchased BH&G paint and I cannot express how very dissappointing it was. Don't bother trying to save money with this paint. Spend a few dollars more at your local DIY store and get a brand you can trust. This paint did not even seem to be made correctly never mind mixed correctly. I wound up using Behr brand to cover up the mess. Walmart has stepped down from Dutch Boy for this . . . not very good paint.
I just bought Better Homes and Gardens Glidden flat paint......I am painting the top walls (over the ceramic tiles ) Since there was only a small area on 3 walls I decided to just buy this paint at Wal-Mart ....... It is the worst paint I have ever used. I have been a do it yourself home painter for 45 years and an artist for 25 years. I have never used a paint that you have to paint and go back constantly to catch the drips........It is think and the right consistency in the can and as you put it on the wall.......I tried different brushes, it still drips. I began to just let it dry and go back and sand it and do tough ups. When I use 3 different kinds of sandpaper to sand it, the paint starts rolling up in an uneven way on the wall. I tried sanding by hand, lightly and then harder. I tried a little sanding block. I tried a hand sander and it really rolled up the paint........then I would go back and hand paint it real nicely holding a blow dryer in the left hand while painting with the good quality artist brush in the right hand.......this has taken 3 days to do a 1 hour job. I still do not like how it looks......My husband suggest that I just go to Sherwin Williams and get the color mixed and start all over...................I am extremely unhappy and will never buy this horrible paint again.........I wasted too much time and could have painted a mural worth $$$$$ in this same amount of time.....do not buy this.......you will be sorry.
