High Endurance by Glidden is one of the best paint products on todays market. This paint covered it all! Fingerprints dog nose prints, food splatter and even markers on my walls. When you need a great paint at a great price choose Glidden high Endurance for all your home painting needs!
When we bought our house we painted everything using a different brand of 2 in 1 that has worn horribly after just 3 years. So now we are slowly repainting the house. We recently did our son's room with a Glidden interior paint and were extremely happy with the results. We picked up a gallon of this Glidden 2 in 1 High endurance plus in totally teal to do the kitchen. I was expecting a runny mess after reading some of the reviews, but not the case. This paint is thick and covered up a bright apple cider color in 2 coats. Our walls are very textured (not by choice) so they can be difficult to cover. Worked great for cutting in as well and covered up the black on our baseboards in the same amount of coats. It looks great and I am really happy with the color! I did encounter some dripping but I was laying it on pretty thick in some areas and I had plenty of time to go back and roll over it before it dried. The paint has held up well in the bedroom so hoping it will do the same for the kitchen! Thanks Glidden! GREAT product! Have Deepest Aqua already bought for the bathroom and looking to purchase a light grey soon!
I may not be very crazy about painting. All the prep work and clean up isn't for me. But at the price painters charge..guess that means I do it. I chose Glidden® High Endurance™ Plus. I was very pleased that it had the primer included in it. Anything that makes painting easier. It was very easy to apply. The color was exactly what I wanted. I used the semi-gloss so I could wipe of any marks. I painted over a flat paint that was 7yrs old. I will definitely buy this again..
i use this to cover contractors flat white on a textured surface.color was spot on.nice thick paint with very little odor. double coating only makes the job nicer and more professional. tough to beat at this price point.
I would highly recommend and of the Glidden paint and primer in one paints. I have repainted many homes and have used many "brand" names such as One and Valspar and they were not worth the money. I used the regular Glidden paint and primer in one in a pastel green, don't remember color exactly, over a dark blue in my house and it completely covered it in literally 1 coat. the key is to be kind with the paint and not try to stretch it thin to save money. I covered 600 sq. feet with 2 gallons in 1 coat and it came out the exact color I chose at the store. I tend to find the people who complain about it and give it a low rating, tend to be cheapies who think you can spread it thin and get amazing results. I painted it on in just two rolls of a cheap roller and it worked perfectly.
My Son and DIL painted there entire house,, because of budget they decided to go with Glidden. I can not stress enough how great this paint went on, the coverage was beautiful. They wanted all the dark doors and trim white which everyone knows can take some work . . Yes it took a couple coats but the coverage was amazing It almost appears to have a shell finish when dry and yes its tough cause I tested it .. I have painted for 30 yrs and have become increasing unhappy with Valspar and Behr but was still worried that they were going with Glidden. My mind has been changed it will be my first choice from now on . I might add they are doing all the walls and ceilings, 8 rooms in Glidden and what has been done is beautiful, amazing smooth coverage .
I used the High Endurance Plus, Best Quality, Semi-gloss white on my window frames. It covered the bare wood with 2 coats. There were small cracks of black paint showing through the old white paint and they covered with just one coat. Dries quickly so make sure all your prep work is done before you start. I accidentally touched painted surfaces a couple times and discovered that most of it was dry to the touch after only 5 or 10 min. I painted 12 window frames last summer and they still look great this year.
I was hoping with the primer included in the paint it would cover my child's pencil marks or marker markings. I put 4 coats and still shows I am going to cover it 2 more times to see if it covers the markings. Not cost efficient to pay for something all in one. I should have gotten the primer alone.
...Not sure what happened, but used the high endurance paint on new drywall which had been sealed with Kilz premium latex sealer - the color coat took two coats which is normal to get a good solid color. But it seems like the paint isn't adhering to the Kilz - anything left leaning against the walls will pull the paint away like it's not drying properly. I've painted for years and have never seen anything like this, and intend to contact Glidden to see if there may have been a bad batch but for all purposes this should not be happening under normal circumstances.
I am an experienced furniture painter. I have purchased Glidden in the past and loved it however when the product changed to High Endurance Plus the formula must have been changed as well. I have purchased 2 cans at separate times and achieved the same poor results. The paint is very runny even after being sure to stir from the bottom. Poor coverage with one coat. I had to coat lightly because if I didn't it would run. Even with a light coat I went back about an hour later and the product still ran and was still very wet. It would take me forever to finish a project and time is money and this product is just not worth it.
