I have bought 8 gallons of this paint mixed with various colors to paint the inside of my house. Two coats of whatever color I had mixed came out beautifully! Great quality, dries quickly, works great over caulked areas. Very, very happy with this paint and will always buy this. I have used Sherwin Williams in the past and I can't tell a difference.
I am a picky person when it comes to getting the job done right. So that is why I was so easily sold on the expensive stuff, my train of thought is the high price must mean its a good product...not the case by any means. I just moved into a new apartment, and of course painted before I brought my stuff in, and like i said bought the high end junk. turns out I didn't have all that I need so I used some of my moms paint from when she did her house... as you can assume she got the ColorPlace paint, and I knew why after I used it for the first time. Goes on smooth, covers better, and its just bright crisp colors. Now I feel like a fool spending more then I had to on an inferior paint.
I do a lot of painting at my home and I also paint other home's interior as side work. I usually only buy Behr paint from Home Depot. I believe Behr is the best paint that I have used BUT after using Colorplace from Walmart, I think I will switch. The Colorplace is around $10 to $12 cheaper per gallon and I am happy with the coverage. The Colorplace paint has an excellent color selection available. I would rate it 5 out of 5 stars. Be careful which Walmart associate you get to mix the colors. You're buying a quality paint so you want a quality mix.
My daughters repainted their rooms downstairs with this paint. Just a single coat and it covered over another paint very well!
We have remodeled two homes using mainly colorplace paint.. I have used colorplace, olympic, benjamin moore, sherwin williams, kilz brand, valzspar, etc and I used two coats no matter what brand. I have never had an issue with the paint peeling, etc.. I've never used a paint that didn't smell.. I always add 1 small bottle of vanilla extract to 1 gal of paint to cut down on the 'paint smell'.. but for the price, colorplace is by far my 1st choice and the best value. The interior of our new home has been completed painted in colorplace, satin finish. I do real estate/foreclosures and every contractor we use, uses colorplace paint as well when they are making repairs, updates to the properties.
Thin. Needed additional coat.
This paint is so thin it takes 3 coats just to get coverage over THE SAME COLOR.
Horrible patchy paint. Maybe user error, painting over flat paint and without a primer but even with two coats it looks awful. Currently at Lowe's buying a better paint. Skip this one if you can for bigger projects!
It holds the color, but it is not as sticky as other paints. so it can come off quite easily, and that is even with having a primer on beforehand.
made my walls beige not bright white ... I mixed it with a paddle mixer for as long as I can mix it and the color was still beige Did multiple coats and the wall still came out the same either I got a bad batch of paint or they put the wrong color on the container... not sure if you can see the comparison but one is bright white from home Depot and the other is bright white from Walmart
