I will never shave again! :)

I absolutely love this epilator! I have always shaved and not only did I get horrible razor burn that would take about two weeks to go away, but my hair grows very quickly and I would have stubble by the next day. It was miserable. I would suffer for weeks just to achieve smooth skin for a single day. I tried waxing a couple of times, but couldnt get through the pain, and I have very bad reactions to hair removal creams, and the other options were just too expensive for me. I'll be honest, Ive never heard of an epilator until I started browsing online and had no idea what they were for, but once I figured out how they worked, I knew I had to try it. After looking at reviews and different prices I decided on this one. The first time I tried it, I jumped a little. lol. The pain wasnt bad at all considering that I had just tried waxing days before, so I kind of knew what to expect as far as that goes, but the rotating tweezers were a little intimidating. After the first time, I got over my fear and decided to go straight for the bikini line. Since that is the main thing I bought this for, I wanted to see if I could handle it. It wasnt bad at all. It does rip the hair out, so obviously there was some pain, but it was bearable and nowhere near as painful as waxing since waxing rips the top lair of skin off, and this just takes the hair. After testing it out, I took a bath and exfoliated, then immediately used it after getting out. The hair seemed to come out a lot easier after that and it was a little more comfortable. I bought duracell batteries for it and I was able to do my bikini line, legs, and underarms, and the batteries still have some life left in them. (I know this is supposed to be for smaller areas, but I couldnt really afford a full size epilator) I was very pleased with the results. It did take some time since its not really made for larger areas like the legs, but it didnt take as long as I expected. I think it took about 20 minutes. I did have little red spots where the hair was ripped out, but they were gone by the next day. I moisturized right after using it and I think that helped. (I would recommend something with aloe) Its been a few weeks since I used it and I still have very smooth skin. I did have a few hairs pop up (think some of them broke off instead of coming out at the root) but it only took a minute or so to do a touch up. You do need to make sure you follow the directions if you want the best results. Just hold it flat up against the skin (you want to pull the skin tight) and go in a circular motion. I tried it another way in one area before reading the directions and that was the main area that I had to touch up. You also want to use it on clean skin. You dont want any residue from lotion building up on it. Anyways, sorry this review is so long, but I wanted to make sure I included as much information as I could in hopes that this may be helpful to someone. Overall, I am very happy with this epilator, and I am very happy to say that I will never go back to shaving again. So basically, I'm just very happy. Lol :)

I bought this as a replacement to my previous Emjoi which I had for years. If you are not used to epilators, use it for a short period and try again in a day until you get used to it.

I bought it online and the item reached for the store pick up just as promised my the website. I put batteries in it and used right away on my cheeks... was amazed at its performance, it pulls hair with minimal pain as compared to threading and waxing. The key is to keep it very close to your skin and stretch the part of skin where you are using it. Let me say, I have super sensitive skin and super thick hair, can't do threading on my face as it causes small blood droplets from where hair are plucked (weird?), and waxing is creating wrinkles and drying my aging skin. This does not hurt my skin while plucking at all compared to previous methods. This is my first epilator so can't compare to any other brand, it may be noisy compared to others (it is a bit more noisy than men's electric razor). I found it works best if you use it on fewer and smaller hair, the first time I used it was after 2 weeks of facial wax, and then I am using it every weekend. So, I dont let my hair grow longer (longer cause more pain to be plucked). After using, my face becomes a little red, I apply clay mask for 15 mins and wash with cold water, my face looks more than normal in 10 hours. I do not have courage to use it for upper lips so far and still waxing them.

Ever since I turned 40 I developed chin hair and much more "moustache" hair. I'm sick of tweezing all the time since the population of the hairs is much more than I can handle. The Emjoi Epilator works pretty good. It's easy to use and removes most of the moustache and chin hair. The secret is not to press too hard with it and use circular motions so it catches the hair. If the hairs are really short the Epilator will have a hard time catching it so you might have to tweeze those or let them grow just a bit longer. If your not used to an epilator, it will hurt. And it does leave red irritated areas but the more you use it the more your skin gets used to it. You will get used to the pain and it will not hurt as much. The first time you use it you have more hair but if you keep up with it, with less hair growth it's easier and less painful to maintain. I recommend it!

I had an Emjoi Epi Slim Epilator for a number of years (purchased it from QVC). After approximately 7+ years of continued good service with the product, I felt it was time to get a new one. The product works very easily; anyone can use it (both men and women). My 89-year-old mother has one too. We use the epilator on our face, to remove hair from above the lip, the chin, the neck, as well as the side of the face. It does the job, without damaging the skin. Also, the Walmart price was excellent, approximately 35% less than when I first purchased the product years ago. I love it!

Awesome for trying an Epilator for first time

This is my very first Epilator. I bought it originally to use for chin hair. My hair type is thick, and as I have gotten older (I'm in my early 30's), I've noticed chin hair. This Epilator didn't work for my chin hair, however it may work for someone else. It just didn't seem to pull it out like I wanted. Having said that, I LOVE it for peach fuzz on the face, and my legs!! I'm not sure why I never bought one years ago lol. Now, this one is smaller because it's for smaller areas of the body, but it works REALLY good for the legs, and it didn't take me long at all. I'm a plus size lady, and I have bigger legs and it would take me a long time to shave them with a razor, but I find that with this Epilator, it's a breeze to get smooth; hair-free, legs. I have to also say, I was scared to use it at first because of the pain. It took me awhile to get the courage to use it lol, and it did hurt... at first. I keept saying OUCH while it pulled leg hair, however after a day of using it, I had gotten used to the pain. It does hurt, because it's pulling your hair out by the root lol, but it's not so bad that you couldn't or wouldn't, want to use it. I've also noticed that whatever area you use it on, really does stay hair-free for WAY longer than shaving ever did. For me, when shaving my legs, the very next day I would feel hair stubble .. YUCK, but with this Epilator, hair stays gone for a lot longer and it's WELL worth the little bit of pain that you may go through. This Epilator runs on 2 AA batteries, and they last for a very long time. I actually use re-chargeable batteries, and they do VERY well. I like the idea that it's cordless, because I can use it ANYWHERE I wish too. I actually keep it at my computer desk in my living room, next to my make-up and other beauty products.. and I use it anytime I notice hair. Some other reviews, I've noticed, has said that you have to go over the same spot over and over to get the hair removed, however... I don't really find that I have to go over it any more than what I would have to if using a regular razor. Actually, I find that I don't have to go over it anymore than MAYBE 2 times, if that. As I said, I have thick hair, and it's dark in color.. it does great for me. I've gotten brave and used it for other areas, as in.. under arms, and bikini area, it was painful at first, but as I said you get used to it pretty fast. Make sure to read how to use it, because that will help a lot on how good it works.

Great Hair Remover, A Must Have!!!

Omg, I wish I had purchased this long before now my life would've been so much easier! This is the best in removing hair and my skin is baby soft. I have no stubble, no burn, no irritation as I do when using razors! The Emjoi Epi Slim Epilator is a must have for anyone wanting to be hair free without that stubble or dark six oclock shadow left behind (yes even in arm pits). The hair is removed by tiny rows of tweezers and you would think it would be quite painful but for me this was not the case. (Each person is different) If you can pluck your brows or be waxed this should be no problem. This runs on batteries that you purchase separately and is very affordable. It will change your life. It can be used on the legs, bikini line, upper lip, face, arm pits, arms it is a versatile product. I will never again be without it, I plan to purchase 2 more just to ensure that fact. Plus I really want to ensure sanitary conditions so I want one for the face alone, one for the body alone. Get one today, one for your friends, family member they will LOVE you for it!!! (comes with instruction booklet)

Does do the job.

I have tried many different products for hair removal over the years. As many women my age, I have developed rather coarse facial hair on my chin. Depilatories do not work well and are irratating to my skin. Plucking works but takes too long. I had a hard time causing myself the pain of pulling wax strips off and there was always hair left, not to mention the stickey goo. This epilator does do the job in general. It takes some time and does cause some discomfort. I have found that I do have to pluck some hair but not many. There are fewer hairs as time goes on since it pulls the hair out from the root. It is small and would likely not be as useful for legs but just the right size for facial use.

The Epi sounds really scary when you first turn it on. I would NOT recommend using it the first time on your face. Get used to it. I had to work up the courage to use it on my upper lip. I'm glad I did, it does a great job!

I was hesitant at first to buy an epilator, but I decided to purchase it based on the great reviews this specific product had. I gave it a four star rating because i have only had it for one week and have used it twice. It is very easy to use and I have used it on my neck, chin, upper lip, and cheeks. After use, I have not experienced any type of ill effects. I really do like so far. I usually go thread my face and the epilator leaves my face just as if I had gone threading. I would recommend this product to anyone.
