Perfect for Mom

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 90 year old mother broke her hip 3 yrs ago, and has been using a(nother) walker ever since. I was told about this "Drive" walker by a vet who just got one, and it is FAR superior to what Mom had, even tho it is 'similar'. The wheels are bigger, so it travels much easier (she couldn't go on dirt or sand access paths) outside AND inside. It's lighter and the release handles to fold it up are easier to manage. The pull down seat is handy for taking things across the room, or sitting on. Apparently it is slightly higher too (even tho the old one was adjustable), so she is more comfortable walking. Worth every penny!

Nice walker for the price. Jet was the cheapist place I could find on-line. Just one thing, with the walker adjusted all the way down the seat is 24 inches from the floor so a short persons feet will not lay flat on the floor, but on the good side. It is easy to stand up. I am 5'10 and works for me.

Best walker out there!

I have significant stability issues even though I'm young and have continued using a wheelchair because I pull over walkers with my vertigo. I used this walker in the therapy department last week at the hospital and had to get one! The frame is much more sturdy than the typical aluminum type. And if you use the big oxygen tanks, the blue things by the seat hold it horizontally. I know that's not what they are for, and it's probably not good for them, and it takes up the seat, but it was awesome for me so I mentioned it. This is the only walker I would give a family member who needed one.

A perfect walker

This walker folds flat and has large wheels. It can be used with the seat up but not for walking purposes. I bought it to replace a nearly identical one that had small wheels.

Brakes had to be adjusted from the beginning

I had the bigger model previously and loved it--but I've grown shorter and needed the smaller size. When it arrived the brakes were badly out of adjustnment and the walker pulled to one side so badly that walking with it was a real chore. Fortunately, my grandson is a mountain biker and knew how to adjust the brakes. Now it works fine, but I do miss the 8-inch wheels on the larger model. They respond effortlessly and the whole walker moved so much more freely. If you are 5'4" or taller, go for the larger model.

Good bang for your buck.

Has a good seat. It feels a bit unstable on unsmooth surfaces. It stops well. Seat is a bit high. Wouldn't recommend for those shorter than 5' 10".

Nice but heavy

I like this product, however it's quite heavy to pick up and to travel with. I bought the regular one not knowing they had a JR one, so I bought that one thinking it would be lighter, but it was not. So I will be returning both to Walmarts. I do like this product, I felt safe using it, but if it's difficult to pick up 17 to 19lbs by yourself and to put in and get out by yourself, it's probably not for you. Otherwise, if you want to feel safe, it's a good product.

could use some improvement

I need a walker that allows me to get completely inside the frame, with my shoulders directly over the hand grips. I bought the Clever-lite walker because it is the closest thing I could get to the Invacare 68100, which has been discontinued. The Clever-lite has many of the same features, but is engineered a little differently. The seat on the one I have will not stay in the up position while I walk. It is continually falling down into the space I need for walking. I have also not been able to adjust the brakes to a comfortable setting. When I squeeze the brake handles, they do lock the brakes, but the handles pull up all the way to the handle grips. There is no room to adjust the brakes to allow for future tire tread wear and for the extra "squeeze" in an emergency situation. I am afraid that, as the "tread" on the wheels wears down, I will not be able to pull the handles far enough to stop the wheels. There are minor adjustments that can be made to the brake cable, but I have been unable to find an adjustment I am comfortable with. The frame seems to be a lighter gauge aluminum tubing than the Invacare model was, and feels flimsier to me. It would also be nice to have a model that allowed for a lower height adjustment. I am using it on the shortest height that it allows. I would reluctantly recommend this rollator only because there are no longer any other walkers that have the range of features that this one has, including 8 inch wheels, hand brakes, fold down seat, swivel front wheels, and compactness when folded for transport.

Poor quality

Poor quality. So much trouble to return but if I can get assistance I will return. Is it asking too much to get a walker with 4wheels which is the same size and weight as the basic walkers you receive after surgery ? I,m sure that I am not the only one who would like the 4 wheels instead of getting caught on rugs mats, sidewalks, etc with the stationary legs but in the small manageable size.
