brach's has always made great candy and these peppermints follow that same course plus the 58 oz bag helps a lot too.
If you believe, as I do, that the Brach's Star Brites peppermints are the best tasting, you will want to take advantage of the deal Walmart has for you. It's very hard to find Brach's Star Brites in my local stores; the only place I can get them is in bulk foods, with a very high price. If you order online from Walmart, you can get them in 58 oz packages, and free shipping if your order exceeds a certain price, so I always order enough to get the free shipping. For a while, I was relying on picking up the 58 oz bags at my local Walmart, but for my last two visits, they did not have any on the shelves. That was the only reason I shop there. So ordering online is what I will do from now on.
It's great that I found in 2012 that Walmart.com carries these economical 58 oz bags; lately in 2013 though they are often not available for home shipment, so when they were recently available again, I stocked-up. The Brach's brand of peppermint candies are so much better than off-brands, they taste better and the candy is nice and firm. It's best to keep them sealed up tightly in an air-tight container, or in the original bag, so they don't absorb moisture and become gummy.
I take my mints very seriously. I always have mints out in my house and even carry a bag of mints in my purse. I am known for my mint availability, shall we say. So when I started running low I knew I needed to do some serious searching. They had to taste good but also be a good value and a large bag. I decided, with a decision this important I will trust the name brand. Brachs has been around forever. The price was definitely right and the bag was larger than I expected. All in all it was win win win taste, price, quantity.
My husband loves peppermints. He has tried many different brands, but he always comes back to Brach's - they have the best flavor and they last (i.e., less air in the candy).
When you find something special, you stick with it, which is just what I've done with Brach's Starbright. I carry them wherever I go and when people see that I have them they always ask for one because it's the best. I'm happy that Walmart has this size online.
I've been buying this product from alocal Walmart for years. They have been ""out of stock" for a couple of months and I was running low, so I decided to order them online. The product arrived quickly and undamaged. I have a very dry mouth due to medications and this product relives that with the benefit of being sugarless and tasting good.
I use to get this peppermint from the store but it was never in stock and that is why I started ordering it online. I love it and am very satisfied with the product the price and the service. I will be ordering this again in the future.

Brach has long been the 'standard' for hard candies and still are, even though there are many cheaper alternatives on the market. If you don't care about having the 'best', go with one of the several knock-off brands. But I still feel the Brach Starbright Peppermint candy is worth the extra costs considering my low consumption rate. If you are passing them out by the bushel basket, definitely by the cheap stuff. I would have given these a 5-star rating if it were not for a few candies in each bag not being wrapped tight, if it even has a wrapper - obviously a quality issue with the machine(s) involved with this part of the process.
